@SimonedeBeauvoirscat I've been unwell recently and the Dr has run lots of blood tests to try and work out what's going on - this is one of the problems they found.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 06/05/2021 07:26

First check of the day... Still a no for September 1981.

Weeedonkey · 06/05/2021 07:42
@Weeedonkey I've just checked on my phone, that's the national site so if the link doesn't work go direct.
Thanks @SquashMinusIsShit I had no idea where the message was coming from or where it was sending me.

I’ll give my surgery a call Smile

smogsville · 06/05/2021 09:40

@BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln august 81 here - website currently saying this service is unavailable - so even eligibles can't book atm.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 06/05/2021 09:51

Oh bloody hell - it's not looking good for us under 40s then!

smogsville · 06/05/2021 09:56

@BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln as a late august bday I have always been the youngest. I've never been that bothered by it before!

If I didn't have two weeks booked in France I wouldn't actually care as I'm not worried about catching the virus but I am very worried about my holibobs!

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 06/05/2021 10:10

@smogsville Same here (although Germany not France) and time is running out to be able to get my second vaccine booked in two weeks beforehand! First World problems I know, I know.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 06/05/2021 10:11

OK I think the site may have been a temporary glitch as it's back up and running normally for me. "Normally" is telling me that I'm not eligible.

smogsville · 06/05/2021 10:18

@BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln yes back up now and still not eligible either. I was confident the next group would have been invited by now as it seemed to move from 44 to 42 and then 40 within a week. Rage. I'm hoping we'll all still be able to go on hols even if it means the minor hassle and expense of negative tests in time.

MRex · 06/05/2021 10:20

@smogsville and @BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln - I have 2 neighbours relying on your checks. I didn't reveal my source for telling the older neighbours when age groups opened, and they excitedly asked me to let them know asap because they seem to think I have some inside info.

Projections from Paul Mainwood (twitter @PaulMainwood)

An update to the UK vaccine roll-out projection, given the excellent supply news today.
Key points:
- Currently approved vaccines only
- Can hit the "first doses to all adults" target ~4 weeks early
- Booking open for 35-39 year-olds next week; 30-34 year olds before end of May

We received another batch of 3.6-3.7million vaccines this week so there should be no reason not to push forward with the roll out. We do not have any supply problems even though we are no longer receiving AZ from India.

Tequilamockinbird · 06/05/2021 10:49

I had AZ this morning at Nightingale Sunderland. I asked about Moderna and they said there was a supply issue and they're expecting it back in within a couple of weeks. I was offered the option to rebook but I'm so needlephobic that I just wanted it done there and then.

Did have a bit of a wobbler and had to lie on a bed for 30 mins after 😳 but I'm so relieved it's now done. Staff were absolutely amazing too.

smogsville · 06/05/2021 11:42

@MRex lol for our 'source' the nhs website! Aug 81 still ineligible as we speak...

smogsville · 06/05/2021 12:22

@wintertravel1980 ooh just seen this that's interesting about next week thanks for sharing who is this Paul man?

Fingers crossed he's correct. I have seen it in a few places that 35-39 will apparently be called next week, but I am not going to count my chickens until I'm asked that flu jab question!!!!

This may explain why the site was down earlier today:

not sure what they've changed as the questions are the same as few weeks ago... (tho weve got the 2nd dose for the both of us and to be able to see the info you need the appointment reference)

wintertravel1980 · 06/05/2021 13:15

who is this Paul man?

He is just a random guy on twitter:) but he is using official data sources to figure out vaccine situation across the UK. I was doing the same thing on the back of the envelope until I have come across Paul's account.

We can track actual vaccine deliveries by looking at Scotland and Wales who both publish their available supplies each Tuesday. Scotland represents roughly 8% of the UK population so we can easily calculate the UK wide number.

Over past 3 weeks we have been consistently receiving 3.6-3.7million of vaccines per week. We know that at least 950k is Pfizer and 150k is Moderna. The rest (2.5-2.6m) is most likely to be domestic supply of AZ (scaled up from the planned 2m).

In terms of the forecast - Pfizer deliveries have been running like a clock since December 2020 so it is safe to assume this will continue. Moderna can be choppy but it is too small to matter. If the AZ number is sustainable, 3.7mm of vaccines per week should be a realistic projection for May and June. This should allow us to "offer vaccine to every adult" by the end of June.

smogsville · 06/05/2021 13:21

I've got to stop reading the news as I am now becoming enraged about whippersnapper Welsh 18yos being offered their first vaccine! What's that poem about the wisdom to know the diff between the things you can change and the things you can't... speaking of which I'm off to vote.

EgSk · 06/05/2021 14:27

I’m 36 and my husband is 39. We both got texts from our GP yesterday to book . We booked for next week .

SallyCinnabon · 06/05/2021 15:42

41 SW England.

Been trying to book today. Link in text didn’t work this morning, rang my surgery, they said to call 119, called 119 and they said systems were down try later. Called later and didn’t get through to anyone, just cut me off. Just tried the website link again and it’s working but says I need to rebook as I’ve missed my appointment.

The one I haven’t been able to book yet.

Amazing’ 🙄

DisneyMillie · 06/05/2021 16:13

41 and dh 42 both just had our first Pfizer shots - nothing available at all in our county so made the trip to London for a date day combined with jab!!

pinkpanther84 · 06/05/2021 17:10

DH 40 had his first vaccine today, Exeter, AstraZeneca

ChloeDecker · 06/05/2021 17:14

I’m done! Just waiting for the 15 mins after. Guys Vaccine centre 1. Had Pfizer. Very very busy but wonderful staff and really impressed.
Thinking of the 30s still currently waiting. Really hope it’s soon for you all.
