Husband (Spring 1977) booked in as soon as he could this morning - got a vaccine slot tomorrow morning and second jab is in July, a fortnight before our holiday (assuming we can travel then). Wonder how long it will take them to get through the 40-44 year olds, as this must be one of the biggest age groups.

Catsarecrazy · 26/04/2021 16:29

@Fulloffalafel take screenshots of your booking numbers. I remember that for 45-49 year olds it took a couple of days in some cases for the confirmation emails to come through.

ConnieDobbs · 26/04/2021 16:31

Had mine today! Age 42 but I booked through the GP.

Had AZ, I'm feeling a bit ropey now but had a disturbed night's sleep (ill child) and then also had a very stressful day at work afterwards.

Justdowhatyouweretold · 26/04/2021 16:32

@MRex I've booked it for Sunday as it's a bank holiday and I get an extra day off work. But I could have booked for tomorrow.

I've booked the 2nd one for mid July.

SoThisisMe · 26/04/2021 16:33

I'm booked! August 78, was a no this morning but now have 1st tomorrow morning and 2nd mid July (different closer location for the 2nd, although 1st is only 15 mins away) I'm in Birmingham.

Fulloffalafel · 26/04/2021 16:36

My confirmations are now through, so all is well.

I feel a sense of relief.

BessMarvin · 26/04/2021 16:36

@FrenchyQ

Booked mine (aug 1978) for Sunday, wouldn't let me book 2nd one though
How strange, I didn't think it let people book just one!
Frazzled2207 · 26/04/2021 16:36

@MaggieFS

It's allowing me to book my first, in a couple of weeks (could actually go elsewhere this week, but I'm already busy, annoyingly) but for my second, the only options coming up are ridiculous. Bonkers ridiculous. I don't mind a bit of travel but these are crazy. What should I do? Do I book the crazy to ensure I get the first and then try and rearrange, or book nothing yet which means postponing the first too?
also want to know this! Surely it's possible to book a second but potentially cancel and change it for something more local You'd really think so wouldn't you. Also in 12 weeks time it will be only 2nd jabs so hopefully a lot less pressure on the system.
RumHoney · 26/04/2021 16:37

I'm in! First time I clicked on the big local site it said no appointments, I looked at a couple of others which didn't really work for me then went back and there were loads of appointments at the site I wanted. Booked for Sunday :)

Catsarecrazy · 26/04/2021 16:38

If I remember from reading the previous thread, they did keep uploading more appointments to the system so I think if your 2nd jab options are useless then you can keep trying til something more sensible appears.

41, got my text invite from GP today, booked in for tomorrow morning at the local hub. Greater Manchester.

Looks like I'll be getting AZ.

I think you can do this as there's an option to click on Manage your appointments on the NHS website which says you can click their to view or cancel or book your appointments again.

Replying to my own comment to say ignore this. I've just tried it to see if I might be able to get a better location for jab 1 and you only have the option to cancel and then rebook. You can't see what's available before you cancel and there's a warning saying if you cancel, you may not be able to get another appointment in April, which is nearly at its end admittedly.

MRex · 26/04/2021 16:59

@MaggieFS and @Frazzled2207 - book now then cancel after first jab and rebook locally. I did similar in group 6 where I knew the second date wouldn't work. Once your first jab is done there will be loads of slots for younger people so you can grab one of those.

Bristol area and 0 appointments there!

OrangeBananaFish · 26/04/2021 17:10

Jan 79 here, I can book, but the options are very limited. I have a feeling that they put new appointments on at 7PM. I have absolutely no idea where I got that from, but I'm sure I saw it somewhere (most likely MN).

I had 2 options when I checked at lunchtime at the only one nearish to me and they were both when I was work this week. Now there is nothing remotely close. Just wondering when would be a good time to check again? Does anyone know.

LadyCatStark · 26/04/2021 17:12

I had mine last Tuesday. My doctors sent me a message, they’re doing over 30s already in my area 😵 I’m 35.

I read that as you've been invited by the national Trust!
mouche202 · 26/04/2021 17:16

I love this thread. Just booked - 42 in a few days. Located London/ Kent borders - got first one (10 May) in local hub; locations for second one were all a bit rubbish but picked the best of a bad bunch for 27th July. I'm obese with high BP and mild asthma (and a child in school/ husband who works with the public) so am really thrilled.

They are obviously running the vaccination program like buses. You wait for ages then three come along at onceGrin
PeonyRose80 · 26/04/2021 17:19

Nov 1980 and still no luck, in Hampshire- fingers crossed it won’t be long
