Carrying on from the old thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4104964-Ocado-tips-tricks-subs-M-S-shortbread-giveaways-and-defectors

Give a vague area of where you live, or first part of postcode, and how much you pay for your smart pass. They seem to charge how much they think we will pay.

London, SE23 : £9.99 for an anytime pass. Customer for 10+ years.

I have the app back!!!

Though I miss the green colour theme. The purple feels a bit kids' TV.

£9.99 anytime. Still not sure if it was worth the £4 increase. Service has been much better recently but I doubt the two are connected.

But still ... app!

Quarantino · 13/03/2021 09:38

Omg, the app is back for me too! Finally! It wasn't about a week ago...

mummabear74 · 13/03/2021 15:38

I have the app back too! I think It's going to take a bit of time to get used to again.

PowerslidePanda · 13/03/2021 21:16

@BobsDouble

My renewal email came about 6 weeks ahead of expiry.
Oh, strange that I haven't had it yet then. I've been onto the Smart Pass page to check the expiry date and payments due under my current pass, etc - nothing has updated there.
PursuingProxemicExactitude · 13/03/2021 22:24

Oh my, an Alert (courtesy of restored app) to tell me I have no missing items!

So cool. So much better than a text I feel the need to delete and an email I have to scrabble for ...

All is forgiven, Ocado!

( Hmm )

DobbyTheHouseElk · 14/03/2021 11:28

Delivery came yesterday. No bread. No substitute bread. I don’t believe in the whole warehouse there wasn’t any bread. Bastards.

ElderMillennial · 14/03/2021 11:32

I looked this up yesterday as I am thinking of moving from Morrison's back to Ocado (as Ocado is moving to getting stock from stores) and it said smart pass is on hold.

EveLe · 14/03/2021 13:07

Can anyone tell me how long they renew the passes for? Is it annually?

I've just realised that I had the renewal email in Jan, telling me my renewal was in February - but I had my Ocadoversary voucher last summer and my pass was increased from £1.99 to £5.99 in November!

I want to cancel my pass, as I'm finding the service from Tesco and Sainsbury's much better, but wondering if they'll say I'm tied in for a minimum period.

EveLe · 14/03/2021 17:14

So I emailed to cancel my pass - got a reply asking if I was sure I wanted to cancel as I’d lose my smart pass benefits and wouldn’t be able to buy a new pass as membership is currently paused.

Replied saying yes please cancel, and got this reply.....

“As requested, I'll cancel your Smart Pass at the end of your current membership on Apr 3, 2021. Any payments due before then will be charged as usual. You can continue to enjoy all Smart Pass benefits until that date.

What if you miss the benefits of your Smart Pass and change your mind? Just log in and go to your Smart Pass page to sign up again.”

So not actually sure now whether I can rejoin later or not!

PowerslidePanda · 15/03/2021 14:07

It's possible they're not selling new Smart Passes at the moment but forgot to change that text in the email. But even if you can't rejoin right now, I'd be surprised if that lasted very long - things seem to be getting closer and closer to normal again.

Utterly bizarre that you have so many different dates for the same thing though - 4 in all?!

Quarantino · 16/03/2021 08:22

Apples missing from my order today. Apples. They really couldn't find substitute apples?

EveLe · 16/03/2021 14:49

I'm assuming since I remember having my Ocadoversary voucher around August last year, that Ocado renew 6 monthly as Tesco and Sainsbury's do.

My last £5.99 payment was 4th March, so I'm guessing 3rd April was when the next payment was due, so my pass will be valid until then - which doesn't explain why they increased my pass price from £1.99 to £5.99 in November! They seem to be making up the rules as they go along!

Weirdly, I can see way more slots after 4th April when I'll have to pay for deliveries, than I can for the dates my pass is valid - it seems that while I have my pass I can only book 1 slot per week, but once I have to pay for them I can have as many as I want! Unless the dates available will disappear once I've booked another slot - guess I'll find out once my pass expires, as I do plan on ordering occasionally just for the items I can't get elsewhere.

Missyelliottsaysso · 16/03/2021 14:57

Did anyone buy the Mother’s Day Roast for £15? It consisted of Roast Chicken, roast potatoes, two side dishes and one dessert and was advertised as a family meal, so would have assumed for four.
The roast potatoes only served two, the chicken was pretty small and the dessert ran out of date before Mother’s Day!

bruffin · 16/03/2021 15:28

No , glad i didnt buy it. Pity you cant review offers
Did you complain

Missyelliottsaysso · 16/03/2021 15:53

I did about the potatoes and they refunded the cost...luckily I had another chicken in the freezer and we just ate the dessert anyway even though it was out of date.
Just shows if an offer looks too good to be true... it normally is.

Furball · 16/03/2021 17:17

We get that chicken every few weeks and its tiny, it just about feeds 3 but I bulk it out with sausages. It is abit crap they've lured you into £15 meal like that. and to give a dessert that ran out before is a bit of a Happy Mothers Day joke - and just gives you more faff on a day when you bought it to take off some pressure.

I ordered the cabbage side on its own and that said serves 2 - so don't know what they were thinking.

Words · 16/03/2021 17:48

Well, I complained about no bag refund and in process of sorting that, mentioned the woeful delivery availability despite my having paid upfront for a midweek Smartpass.

The very next day Hmm I get an invitation to rejoin the app, and lo! Much much better availability of slots.

wendz86 · 16/03/2021 18:34

Just had an email saying I have been charged 10.99 for smart pass with no warning price had gone up . Have asked them to cancel . Hardly using them as become to expensive .

Dancingdolphins · 16/03/2021 19:32

@wendz86 that's crazy! How much was it before?!

PowerslidePanda · 16/03/2021 20:50

Today I've been offered the app, 5 days ago I was offered a Reserved slot and 10 days ago I was offered daily slots instead of one per week, so I'm wondering if these are signs that my renewal price will be reasonable. Only 10 days to go and still not heard anything.

wendz86 · 16/03/2021 22:15

I was paying £5.99 before .

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/03/2021 16:44

@wendz86

Just had an email saying I have been charged 10.99 for smart pass with no warning price had gone up . Have asked them to cancel . Hardly using them as become to expensive .
At last someone else paint the same amount as me. Was beginning to think they were scamming me,

(Sorry that you are being made to pay the extortionate 10.99 too. It’s ridiculous. )

RockyRoadster · 17/03/2021 17:08

I have the app back! And also offered Ocado Reserved, but the only choices were Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday early morning or late evening so I didn’t bother 🙁

GiantKitten · 17/03/2021 17:21

I’ve just had this email.
My anytime was £7.99, would go up to £8.99 next month, but I’ve asked to switch to midweek (my next order is on a Tue anyway).
Email implies everybody will be paying £8.99 for anytime...I’d be interested to hear if any of you have had the same email with the same prices Grin

Dancingdolphins · 17/03/2021 19:02

@GiantKitten that's naughty isn't it. My anytime is £2.99 a month and I've heard nothing else!
