But of a fun post for us. .....What are you doing when youve dropped your kids off at school on the 8th macrh. I can't wait to come home and have a good sort out /charity bag it up of all the tat numerous bits of itty bitty paper and clutter that we've collected over the last 8 weeks . After that I'll probably be bloody bored and will miss and want the kids back 🤣🤣

Repairing and repainting the damage four kids have caused over lockdown. Also cleaning and jus generally get things back in order.
All in silence.

Pemberleys · 28/02/2021 16:28

Counting down the days til 15th March when Scottish schools go back.

DrunkenKoala · 28/02/2021 16:30

We’re still waiting to here from DS school as to when testing is and when he’s going back.

DD goes back on 8th. I’m going to have a nice walk on my own around the park on the way home from dropping her. Once home get on with jobs uninterrupted. I think it’s three weeks between then and Easter so I’m going to slowly tackle the house during that time (there’s nothing else to do).

They go back the week beg 19th and that’s when I’m back to swimming and I’ve got a hair appointment - woohoo!!

palacegirl77 · 28/02/2021 16:32

Probably spend the day being grateful that my daughter can finally go back to school and receive face to face teaching that 2/3 of her class have had since Christmas and the rest reassuring my eldest that the tests and mask wearing will be fine when she eventually gets to go back (of which we still dont know).

BlackBrowedAlbatross · 28/02/2021 16:33

Still trying to persuade DC to engage with online learning as we are in Wales and they're not back in school for another six weeks.

MrBullinaChinaShop · 28/02/2021 16:33

@YetAnotherWalk

I will work and then wait for the call/email to say the bubble has popped meaning we're stuck at home for 10 days and I lose 2 weeks' income. Fingers crossed we get to Easter without that happening!
My two managed from June last year (reception and year 1) until Christmas holidays without any popped bubbles so hopefully it’ll be ok for you!
Barbie222 · 28/02/2021 16:33

Back in school teaching yippee! Without an audience of year 1 parents. It felt like I was the daily soap opera sometimes. Glad to escape the constant gaze.

Teaching

I’ll be torn between attempting to sort out the absolute depressing chaos of the house and trying to cram eight weeks worth of missed work into that first day. I’ll panic about all my missed deadlines and the magnitude of the task ahead. I’ll exchange gleeful WhatsApp messages with every mother of primary aged children I know about how grateful we are to have this shred of normality back. I’ll be worried about the kids and so happy for them too. I’ll lay grim bets on how long it will be before the first bubble pops. I’ll be anxious for the future, sad about the past year and desperately hopeful. I’ll grumble about all the time wasted on the school run thanks to interminable staggered drop-off and pick-up times. I’ll delight in every moment spent outdoors, seeing people doing normal things again. I’ll resent and welcome the return of routine.

Ilovemyhairbeingstroked · 28/02/2021 16:40

Popping to home bargains to stock up on cleaning supplies , then putting on some 80s tracks whilst I do a deep clean !

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 28/02/2021 16:42

I’m in Scotland and kids went back to nursery last Monday. It’s been awful in the mornings, crying, wanting to stay at home, proper awful at drop off time. Absolutely fine when they’re in right enough. They only started last Jan because of their birthday so theyve had hardly any consistent time in nursery with lockdowns. They were loving it pre-Christmas though!

So my morning is stressful then from 9am-3pm I do some housework, maybe go to the shops and crochet to my hearts content! Oh, and Netflix!!!

Scottishgirl85 · 28/02/2021 16:43

Erm I'll actually get my work done!

ktp100 · 28/02/2021 16:47

Cleaning and be sad that when he returns from school I get to worry if a hug will kill me again.

whenwillthemadnessend · 28/02/2021 16:48

Enjoy the quiet and def start sorting out bedrooms properly. And give them a real good clean.

CruCru · 28/02/2021 16:53

I’m hoping to get my coronavirus vaccine. I’ve been told that I’m CEV but can’t get my vaccination easily while I’ve got the children at home.

Lickofpink · 28/02/2021 16:55

I'll be in school as always but excited to see the children back.

Refractory · 28/02/2021 16:56

I'm getting the exterminator & carpet cleaners in, washing all sheets in hot water, then going to the dump.

I have two teenage boys and their rooms are vile.

UhtredRagnarson · 28/02/2021 16:58

Waiting for the 12th of April.

UserAgain · 28/02/2021 17:27

DS is old enough to take himself to school, and DD doesn't go back until later in the week.

So I'll be working from a corner of my living space all day, exactly as I have for the last 11 months.

Sparkles715 · 28/02/2021 17:32

Dropping my own child at their breakfast club then going to my school and keeping everything crossed that me and my child manage to avoid catching covid in over-packed classrooms whilst trying to enjoy that some normality is returning.

Coasterfan · 28/02/2021 18:58

Looking forward to coming home and working in peace without having to do homeschool 😀 I ll need to take DD to her school for her covid test at some point Monday or Tuesday though.

ineedaholidayandwine · 28/02/2021 19:32

I'll be enjoying the peace and a snack without having to hide it Grin

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 28/02/2021 19:43

Try to get three children back to school two of which are really far away from here and each other and then collect the youngest come home and collapse. On my first week day off after that I will not know what to do first. Catch up with housework and home paperwork I guess and hopefully go for a mid week run. In fact I will probably do neither of those things and instead fritter way the day. Will be lovely to have the choice.
