But of a fun post for us. .....What are you doing when youve dropped your kids off at school on the 8th macrh. I can't wait to come home and have a good sort out /charity bag it up of all the tat numerous bits of itty bitty paper and clutter that we've collected over the last 8 weeks . After that I'll probably be bloody bored and will miss and want the kids back 🤣🤣

OP posts:
Changeismyname · 28/02/2021 14:21

Actually getting on with some work, uninterrupted

NorbertMeubles · 28/02/2021 14:22

I'm going to miss them so much.

LindaEllen · 28/02/2021 14:22

I'm going to enjoy my breakfast and sit in silence, without a teenager complaining about everything, eating everything, and screaming at his video games.

I love silence, it's beautiful. I know people have much bigger problems, but not having any peace at all for almost a year has really taken its toll on me.

ceeveebee · 28/02/2021 14:26

@pommedeterre

Work without having to do online lessons at the same time. Who thought that 'just' work would feel like a relief? Fucking mental.
Me too, I’m not going to know what to do with all my spare time. Might even get chance to eat or have a wee!
RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 28/02/2021 14:27

Trying to not get too close to 30 other people in the same room as me, endlessly opening windows.

VaVaGloom · 28/02/2021 14:28

On 8th DC2 will be back at primary so I can concentrate on work better (hallelujah!) but I will still need to give DC1 a poke to make sure they are logged on /working as not back in secondary school until testing finished for whole school that week.

When they are both back to school I shall sit In the garden with a cup of tea and relish the silence. I really miss having time alone.

BunsyGirl · 28/02/2021 14:28

WFH...in peace!

BobsDouble · 28/02/2021 14:29

Still have dh at home, so no peace and quiet for me.

I won’t be making endless cups of tea or the 98 meals that my children seem to need throughout the day.

middleager · 28/02/2021 14:32

Working. Making lunch for just one.

VaVaGloom · 28/02/2021 14:34

Also looking forward to not having to load /unload the dishwasher multiple times a day and not have mysterious piles of dirty plates/glasses appear on the side! The trade off is having to start making packed lunches again,

BoobsOnTheMoon · 28/02/2021 14:38

Looking after my DS at home, the same as I have done for the last 3 years because he is disabled and there isn't a school that can meet his needs for 50 miles Smile

Not all children have a school to go back to. I hope that going forward the effect on them is considered as important as it has been for other children.

Lupinhere37 · 28/02/2021 14:39

I’ll my listening to my deeply depressed 17 year old DD crying again because her school in Wales won’t return until God knows when. Apparently 21st April, if numbers allow. But after the Easter holidays and more than a month of kids back in school and lots of parents not observing the no mixing rules, I’m fully expecting her to be denied that return date.
She’s had about 4 weeks of school this year. In sixth form. These kids are screwed.

Happymum12345 · 28/02/2021 14:41

I’ll be going to work to teach. No vaccine, no face masks allowed. Still, we’re allowed the windows open a little & we can wash our hands. Hooray!

mumwalk · 28/02/2021 14:42

Working at home with kids waiting for their school age to go back ☹️.

Chocolateandamaretto · 28/02/2021 14:44

Going to work! No pupils in on the 8th but 6th form in on the 9th. Looking forward to it.

choosername1234 · 28/02/2021 14:44

Enjoying being able to follow the rhythm of my 4 month old, rather than her having to follow our rhythm. Sleepy cuddles whilst feeding and catching up on a few box sets

itsgettingwierd · 28/02/2021 14:46

Working same as always - in a school!

Difference is I'll be dropping ds to college and picking him up and won't have the guilt of knowing I'm leaving him at home all day alone - again. (Although he's online learning 9-4)

Rillington · 28/02/2021 14:47

Ours aren't back on 8th March. We have to wait for an appointment for testing. Which could be anytime from 8th-12th.

manicinsomniac · 28/02/2021 14:50

It says fun post in the OP. Isn't it clear it's for happy replies? Half of this is a bit of a depressing read.

If you're not happy about it, there's plenty of other threads.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/02/2021 14:54

Working. DS has been at school the whole time so no change here. I work out of the home.

Now, 12th April, that is the date I'm looking forward to. Get me to the hairdresser! Grin

TierFourTears · 28/02/2021 14:55

Processing my share of 1500 lateral flow tests to get the kids back into school ASAP.

ACovidofWitches · 28/02/2021 14:58

No children so no change but I'll be sitting here feeling happy that children will be back where they belong. They've all done so well getting through the last year. And I'll be wishing teachers well, too, and hoping they stay safe and can get on with doing their jobs without the virus causing too many issues.

Rockbird · 28/02/2021 15:02

In school working. Loving having the children back and seeing my colleagues before I leave as we've been on a rota and I thought I'd have to go without seeing them again.

Imbehindthemask · 28/02/2021 15:09

Wfh in peace!

Looking at the food in the fridge/cupboard in the morning and marvelling that it's still all there at the end of day Smile

Boredsillyathome · 28/02/2021 15:13
