When will Surrey (Frimley) start on Group 6? How are Surrey doing?

I am in Group 6 (for multiple reasons unfortunately and not at all well at the moment). I would love to know if anyone could give me light at the end of the tunnel as to when they might start the Group 6 rollout here. My mother is not at all well (mental health issues amongst other things) but I can't visit her until a few weeks after I am vaccinated as her anxiety is so high she won't let anyone in or join a bubble (I have tried to access some help for her but she is refusing it which is frustrating.). A nightmare all around but hopefully will get better once we come out of lockdown.

I'm not in that area but I'm geographically close to it & it's going really well. Positive vibes!

Oblomov21 · 05/02/2021 15:15

We are doing really well here. Have almost finished with over 70's, doing the over 65's this week, and hoping to progress to the over 60's next week.

Whereas in Sussex and Yorkshire they haven't even called many of the over 70's yet.

Oblomov21 · 05/02/2021 15:16

How old is your mum?

midlifecatastrophe · 05/02/2021 15:44

Thanks so much for replying Tigresswoods and Oblomov21 - that is cheering for me! My mother isn't here, but in another part of the country and only in her 60's (in her area they have just started over 75's apparently) and I think I will have to take her for her vaccination as she won't leave the house otherwise and certainly not with anyone else. Fingers crossed I might get it in the next couple of weeks then and can go and see her 3 weeks after that (which would be frankly the best news I have had all year...)

My parents in their 70s are in West Surrey and were done on Saturday.

I'm not a million miles from you & in the same health trust. My friend just sent me a message saying she's just got a message to go tomorrow. She's early 50's, slightly asthmatic, a bit overweight. We go to the same GP surgery, I'm a couple of years younger, diabetic and equally overweight. She works in a school. I work with teenagers, but not through a specific school. I have had an Invitation yet, but as I say I'm slight younger & my surname is a lot further through the alphabet. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope we both get ours soon!

Fifthtimelucky · 05/02/2021 17:58

We're in south west Surrey. 70 yr old husband is being done tomorrow.

midlifecatastrophe · 06/02/2021 11:50

Thanks everyone fingers crossed not too long then. My GP verbally suggested he would lean to Oxford in my situation due to my allergies (although feel very lucky to get anything so will go with whatever is available as safer on balance)?

Just wondering which vaccines they are giving where too just in case I get a choice of which site to go to if anyone knew?

I just saw at my practise (nearby) on their website that they have started the 65 year olds. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Not sure if they have Pfizer or AZ though.

Poppystars · 09/02/2021 12:38

I have been moved from group 4 to group 6 and the admin person at Gp said they are just starting group 5 in this area. No idea how long group 5 will take though.

Poppystars · 09/02/2021 12:39

If done at the actual Gp here it is Oxford if that helps. Other bigger areas have facilities for both.

poppycat10 · 09/02/2021 12:40

I don't live too far away from Frimley - it was a slow start where I am but they've made good progress. And another area that is close: Bracknell is definitely onto CEV.

User2847473 · 10/02/2021 00:38

SE Surrey and CEV here. Had mine on Sunday. Delayed by a week as my surgery only received 400 doses last week. Does your surgery have a Facebook page, mine have been great at keeping people updated. Worth keeping an eye on the NHS booking page, I originally booked one and got it 4 days earlier than what my GP offered, but cancelled and went to GP as it was closer.

User2847473 · 10/02/2021 00:39

I had Oxford Astra Zeneca. I assume all GPs have this as easier to store.

Primitivo1 · 15/02/2021 14:43

Just wondering if anyone in Group 6 has had a text or letter yet?

TulipsDaffodils · 15/02/2021 14:49

I was wondering this as I live in Surrey but don't know anyone who has been vaccinated in Surrey that's not job related so I didnt know where they are up to. Everyone I know who's been vaxxed non job related is in a different area

TulipsDaffodils · 15/02/2021 15:07

Would be good for people to update the thread when they get invited so we know what group we are up to. I'm 50 so will update and I've asked a local friend using the same surgery with a 55 year old dh to let me know when he's invited as I should be the next group after him. I'm East Surrey but I was born in Frimley Green! I don't remember it as we moved away when I was a baby.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 15/02/2021 15:12

Have you tried looking to see if your GP practice has a Facebook page? Ours does and there are updated on there showing which group they are on.

TulipsDaffodils · 15/02/2021 15:40

Yes I had a look and there isn't one for our surgery

TulipsDaffodils · 15/02/2021 15:42

I checked our surgery website and it says the vax info is here for my area www.surreyheartlandsccg.nhs.uk/your-health/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-19-vaccination-programme

TulipsDaffodils · 15/02/2021 15:48

It says Surrey Heartlands covers Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Tandridge, Waverley and Woking. This represents around three quarters of the Surrey population. It says all over 70s can book and they are now inviting over 65s but they should wait for an invitation. Hope you get invited soon op

Littlemiss74 · 15/02/2021 16:12

I’m in Surrey & had mine 2 weeks ago

TulipsDaffodils · 15/02/2021 16:25

Are you group 6?

Grimbelina · 16/02/2021 21:18

Farnham way here and in Group 6 for 2 things. Was really hoping it would be this week but it has all gone rather quiet....

Has anyone else in Group 6 had a letter/text etc. here?

Rollergirl11 · 16/02/2021 21:41

I’m in Surrey and Group 6. Waiting to hear. Will update this thread when I have.
