Just been listening to his session in HoC (whilst pottering and putting shopping away,didn't sit and watch, not that sad😉) and though I know won't be popular,found him reassuring in his style,and in what he's saying.
To be health secretary in worst pandemic in generations will test,l anyone,and anyone would make mistakes,so I'm not excusing that: However,if he has to be accountable for those,which I agree he does,he also deserves the credit when things go well, mainly the vaccine rollout,and the early ordering,which is going so well,and giving so much hope,and protection,to many

I think he's doing OK as well, and is lucky in the experts available to his department, and that the department is listening to them.

Two excellent points😁 At points this year,The presence of Whitty,Vallance,or JVT, beside whatever politician is fronting a news conference is only thing that gave me confidence the right advice would be put across

My local hospital is his local patch and there have been various scandals and an inquiry ordered, the findings keep being delayed and not made public. Think along the lines of staff raising concerns about patient safety, and being persecuted for speaking up. He was visiting the hospital and always waltzing round with the CEO when he became health secretary, but as soon as there was an issue on the ground to deal with he distanced himself from the hospital. Still does all the photo opportunities with the managers, but won't speak to any of the doctors or nurses about concerns.

Not really. He’s got a nice, calm and soothing voice, lovely smile and seems like a nice guy. That’s attractive.

I really like Matt - he comes across as a nice, genuine guy.

I would far, far rather watch and listen to him than I would Boris.

He's a wally, but not an arrogant psychopath like many of them. (That's how low we've sunk). No-one else wants his job.

I hope he writes a tell all memoir and gives both barrels to Johnson when this is all over and done with.

I saw him speak earlier on. He looked alert and on the ball, not stressed and exhausted and scared like he did a few months ago. It was reassuring.
