Yes. I double mask if I've had to go inside for a medical appointment. Medical grade first and a tighter cotton mask over the top.
I've not been in a shop this year but I might double my mask wearing when I return in a few weeks.

Quite a few people at the inauguration were. I think Dr Fauci has also suggested it.

I don’t do it though.

It's impressive the number of people who can state that one is enough.

We have two - the one common blue one provides gaps around your nose, and a tighter cloth one pulls the blue one tighter. No great shakes and increases safety. MrsPan is especially vulnerable (which means that I need to behave as if I am) so we are very conscious of risk.

I've just come out of isolation after testing positive. I have a hospital appointment on Tuesday so 2 days out of isolation and I will definitely be double masking as I am terrified of passing it on to someone even though I'm 'not contagious' according to the people at track and trace.

'bit bonkers'..or...being necessarily very careful as our knowledge is incomplete and we err on the side of caution. To not do may be fatal in our family.

I’ve recently started doing this. Not everywhere. Only very busy places where I’m only there for a short period of time. I didn’t realise it was a “thing” now. I was advised over the phone by the consultant do it for my antenatal appointment recently. I’m not high risk or anything, but cases were extremely high in my area when I had the appointment.

Where does it end though? Is 2 enough? 3, 4?

I'd struggle to breath in 2 masks all day. I have to wear masks for 8 hours.

I quadruple mask, or sometimes quintuple in more enclosed settings.

Yes. I wear 2 IIR masks for work or FFP with IIR over the top.
In shops etc I wear either FFP or IIR plus fabric.

I don't know where it ends, but enough medic researchers are concerned enough to recommend doubling. MN posters are...generally...less well informed, but that doesn't stop some.
