I’m seeing this as a thing on social media.

I like that one @RufustheSniggeringReindeer, I'll have a look. I rarely go anywhere I need to wear one but it would be nice if it didn't either drop down or ride up and cover my eyes!

I caught covid recently despite wearing my mask religiously. I've recently bought a bunch of surgical masks to double with my cloth mask. It makes me so sad that millions of masks are being thrown away, but it won't be forever.

@ChairinSage

Goodness. No. Has this become some sort of race to be the most virtuous? "I care even more than you do. You can tell by my double mask. By only wearing one, you're less caring than me".
I don't think anyone is trying to be virtuous. People are worried therefore doing what they can to lessen their chances of catching it. Who is making out that they are better than others by double masking?
WalrusWife · 01/02/2021 11:55

Why would people post on Twitter with a photo saying “I’m caring for others” whilst wearing 3 masks? That’s virtue signalling.

I always find I'm breathing in fibres from medical masks. Don't know why but they make me cough loads (which obvs isn't good). So I have an N95 mask

Hopefully this is the link

No, as I don't use Twitter or Facebook or post pictures of myself there is no need

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/02/2021 13:47

Thanks @RufustheSniggeringReindeer

Yes, for rare supermarket visits where I will be indoors with people I don't live with for a substantial amount of time I'm wearing a type 2 surgical mask with a cloth mask over it.

For shorter visits to the post office, corner shop etc I'm wearing a cloth mask which is 3 layers plus a pocket for a filter of kitchen roll.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 02/02/2021 00:08

@EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall

No, I wear one with a filter.
Is it a re-usable mask, please? I'm interested in a reusable N95 or KN95 that people like (is the filter washable/disposable)?

We're still a hotspot and now we're adjacent to areas being tested for SA variant so I assume it won't be long until there are recommendations about surgical masks (with all their waste) or double-masking on public transport etc.

TravellingTilbury · 02/02/2021 01:16

Double think?

No, I don't double or triple mask. Masks are bad enough without double or triple stupidity.
