What fresh hell is this.

Why, why, why was the Oxford trial/data reporting so sloppy?

How has it come to this??

The BBC story makes it sound like plucky
EU are being very noble. As per.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/01/2021 16:21

Note has been changed but 'expert' expects it to impact poorer countries rather than the UK.

Calls it an 'ugly development'

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/01/2021 16:22

Ooh! I take back the expert quotes, he really is 😁

Waspnest · 29/01/2021 16:29

So we're not on the exemption list and getting vaccine from the EU will require EU authorisation?

Right. The EU are trying to provoke a reaction from the UK government aren't they?

Carry on keeping your gob shut Boris.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/01/2021 16:34

Yep! Let Gove repeat the "when the production lines are up and running we will send vaccine wherever it is needed"

Stand perfectly still, do nothing 😁

CrotchBurn · 29/01/2021 16:36

@Waspnest

Have I got this right: to get the AZ vaccine, producer by a UK company, the UK will have to get EU authorisation?

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 29/01/2021 16:41

Has the EU not now pushed future blame on Belgium? They are pretty stuffed all round now no matter what they do.

Let exports happen and every EU citizens blames them.

Don't let exports happen and the pharmaceutical companies may decide to find other countries outside to manufacture from in future

I don't know. There's not enough detail yet. But I don't think that banning AZ from being exported from the EU matters really, we're producing our own and currently that being produced in the EU is destined for the EU (I think). It's Pfizer export that's the worrying one. But then Pfizer is American and if I were the EU I wouldn't mess with US lawyers.

Astrazeneca AND Oxford press briefing about EU at 5.15pm. Interesting!! (Maybe, or maybe not.)

Those speaking at the webinar press conference include Pascal Soriot, the firm's chief executive officer, and Prof Andrew Pollard, director of the Oxford vaccine group.

Blimey hope it’s good news
MRex · 29/01/2021 17:29

Nothing to see related to the conflict, just a "good news we have regulatory approval" one.

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2021 17:43

I watched it. Thought they came across very well

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/01/2021 17:44

Thanks, I was walking the dog 😊

tobee · 29/01/2021 21:19

While it looks very much like the EU has muffed up their vaccine supply and rollout; it's definitely a handy distraction for certain wings of the press to cover instead of the stuff going on with post brexit lorries going in and out of Europe.
