www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-vaccination-care-home-and-healthcare-settings-posters/covid-19-vaccination-first-phase-priority-groups

So on the conditions list for group 6, psoriasis is listed.
I have psoriasis and have never been told I’m
in the at risk group?!
Does anyone else know anything about this!

Nope. My sister has severe psoriasis, has had multiple new treatments from the gp over the past few months and hasn't been told anything about being clinically vulnerable. Also no mention about having the vaccine.

Bluegot · 11/01/2021 17:55

I read an article that said the genes associated with psoriasis may also be linked to severe Covid. Maybe it could be to do with that?

Fatherbrownsbicycle · 11/01/2021 17:55

Are you on immunosuppressive medication for psoriasis? Methotrexate for example?

@Bluegot do you have the link?

Maybe it is only those on certain medication. Eg some asthmatics have been told to shield. But not all.

@Fatherbrownsbicycle

I’m not personally at the minute (breastfeeding)
but the list doesn’t mention medication, just states the condition.

News to me and I also have psoriasis.

Madhairday · 11/01/2021 17:56

My DD has severe psoriasis and is on Humira but has never been told she's CV or advised to take any more care. Interested to see if she will be eligible even though just 20.

Justforphoto · 11/01/2021 17:56

As far as I'm aware it is only the extremely clinical vulnerable who were notified officially. I know at least 2 members of my family come under at risk and neither have been notified of that.

Allamericanreject · 11/01/2021 17:57

I thought it was only if your where on immunosuppressiants.

Bluegot · 11/01/2021 17:58

The priority list seems to have those on immunosuppressants listed separately and later lists psoriasis as a separate condition

@Fatherbrownsbicycle

This I all I can find on the link -

There is currently no evidence to suggest that people with psoriasis are at any more or less risk of catching COVID-19 than the rest of the population. As such, you should follow the same precautions as issued by the NHS

As far as we are aware, if you take an immunosuppressant medication (e.g. methotrexate and ciclosporin) or biologics to treat your psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis, you may be at extra risk of complications from the virus if you are infected. The specific risk for each individual depends on a number of factors, including: which immunosuppressant medications you are taking; whether you are taking just one of these medications, or more than one; and whether you are also living with other medical issues.

@Justme123123

According to the government list, psoriasis makes you vulnerable and puts you in group 6.

I couldn’t find this anywhere it just kept referring to arthritis everytime i looked it up

PusheenLove · 11/01/2021 18:22

Following as I'm a sufferer.

We need a general psoriasis support/chat thread!

LetsPlayBamboozled · 11/01/2021 18:22

I have no idea if this is a mild thing or not but I happened to read yesterday that Psoriasis can be linked to Liver issues if you google 'Liver and Psoriasis connection' it brings some things up.. Might it be related to that?

Bessica1970 · 11/01/2021 18:23

#Madhairday

Humorous should be enough to put your DD in category 4. It did for me

Bessica1970 · 11/01/2021 18:24

Sorry autocorrect! Humira

@LetsPlayBamboozled

That’s interesting. I had a liver condition in pregnancy. ICP.

I also regularly have raised ALT levels.

I have Psoriatic Arthritis (so Psoriasis and the Arthritis that goes with it). I’m on Methotrexate injections, Abatacept infusions plus various other meds including oral steroids. I’m ECV because of the immunosuppressants and the steroids as well.

QuantumQuality · 11/01/2021 18:28

Only clinically extremely vulnerable people have ever been informed. That lists the clinically vulnerable, who have never been informed.

craigsgirlfriend · 11/01/2021 18:28

Also following with interest - I've got psoriasis and had no idea could be at risk!
