Have had their vaccinations today, apparently at home in Windsor Castle.

I believe the Royal Family should be deposed.

However, I've no problem with Liz and Phil getting their jabs - they're in their 90s, they qualify on age grounds just like anyone else in their age group.

Since Charlie's already had Covid, that should see the line of succession safe! Grin.

avocadoinasidecar · 09/01/2021 17:14

@ChronicallyCurious

I’ve seen lots of people moaning about this on Twitter? Their in their 90s FGS! My friends Grandma is due her second one soon and she’s 81 and in good health (as good as an 80 year old can be). Philip looks like he’s dying!
That's hardly surprising at his age.
alliejay81 · 09/01/2021 17:15

I'm no royalist but I'm pleased to hear this. I think it would add to the general negativity if the Queen had succumbed to covid.

formerbabe · 09/01/2021 17:15

It's brilliant news

MadameBlobby · 09/01/2021 17:16

Great news and well done on making it public, hopefully will provide some people with reassurance about the vaccines.

Duanphen · 09/01/2021 17:17

Obviously. They're rich.

Bilgepumper · 09/01/2021 17:17

Excellent news.

Bilgepumper · 09/01/2021 17:18

@Duanphen

Obviously. They're rich.
WTF?
DdraigGoch · 09/01/2021 17:19

@Sparklingbrook

What are we supposed to say?
I think that the idea is that people say "well if they're prepared to inject it into someone as important as the Queen, I suppose that it is safe for me". Thus the conspiracy theorist bollocks is dispelled.

Sadly of course, conspiracy theorists are a stubborn bunch (not that any of us like to admit when we're wrong) so they'll just enhance the wibble some more.

GrimDamnFanjo · 09/01/2021 17:20

Well they are entitled to have one - I expect that there will be a steady stream of publicised vaccinations of well known people over the next few months.

Crinkle77 · 09/01/2021 17:20

@Duanphen

Obviously. They're rich.
I don't think that's got anything to do with it.
VinylDetective · 09/01/2021 17:20

@Duanphen

Obviously. They're rich.
Obviously. They’re very old.

Fixed that for you.

DimidDavilby · 09/01/2021 17:21

Surprised Stanley got his first!

PatchworkElmer · 09/01/2021 17:22

Good! They’re not jumping the queue, they’ll both be eligible now anyway. I think this is excellent news.

Sedlescombe · 09/01/2021 17:22

You’re desperate for attention aren’t you

Morgan12 · 09/01/2021 17:25

Erm, okay?

Don't really care tbh. Why do you?

Hopeisnotastrategy · 09/01/2021 17:25

Excellent. 😊 My father had his this week as well, and he's quite a bit younger. A bit of hope for us all.

kursaalflyer · 09/01/2021 17:26

@Gwenhwyfar

" I love the Queen, she is ace "

Do you know her? And if not, how can you love someone you don't know?

Blimey it must be so tiring just waiting to put people in their place @Gwenhwyfar

And @Sarahandduck18 life is too short to be mean and nasty about others. (I'm assuming you're about 15). You will be a lot happier when you grow up and lose that chip.

TibetanTerrier · 09/01/2021 17:27

Who cares.

Topseyt · 09/01/2021 17:27

@Duanphen

Obviously. They're rich.
No. It isn't available privately so nobody can queue jump. Their age group is being vaccinated now.
GwendolineMarysLaces · 09/01/2021 17:28

@MajesticWhine

The Pfizer vaccine can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days after being thawed.
This. It is stored at -70 after manufacture and then thawed before use and is stable in a fridge for a few days. It could have been transported on ice
EagleFlight · 09/01/2021 17:29

The Pfizer vaccine can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days after being thawed.

It comes out in batches though so either the full amount to be used or some will be wasted.

kwiksavenofrillsusername · 09/01/2021 17:30

That's fine. I'm not a fan of the royals but the queen dying of covid would probably be pretty bad for the country right now and cause untold chaos.

Also, the logistics of bringing a vaccine to them is probably easier than the security logistics of having her maj taken to the local GPs surgery.

Mrsemcgregor · 09/01/2021 17:34

@Duanphen

Obviously. They're rich.
My poor old nan got hers yesterday, a whole 24 hours ahead of the Queen.
Barbie222 · 09/01/2021 17:36

Good news.
