Have had their vaccinations today, apparently at home in Windsor Castle.

OP posts:

Good for them, and I'm really glad it's been announced, as it may sway some older folk who were unsure about agreeing to it for themselves. Any improvement in take up is welcome.

Unsure33 · 09/01/2021 16:21

@Sarahandduck18

Well considering they have probably contributed ( in time and energy ) more to this country than you ever will . Not a waste.

Presumably you don’t want Sir David Attenborough to have it either ?

Or anyone else who lived through the wars or fought in the wars ?

whoamitojudge · 09/01/2021 16:22

Perhaps it should have been filmed ( from a safe distance of course) just to silence any doubters

IfTheSockFits · 09/01/2021 16:24

Well they are in their 90's so they do qualify.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/01/2021 16:25

Great news.

noblegiraffe · 09/01/2021 16:25

Please tell me Sir David Attenborough has had his!

Souther · 09/01/2021 16:25

They probably had the oxford vaccine because the Pfizer cant be transported.

Staffy1 · 09/01/2021 16:27

@Unsure33

Ancient 😕 The Queen has more energy than a lot of people half her age and a fantastic work ethic .

Age is just a number .

I agree, but they are still old and therefore should be having, or have had the vaccine by now.
lockeddownandcrazy · 09/01/2021 16:28

Bless them, that is a cheery bit of news for a change. Glad to hear this

Great news.
Imagine the effect on morale if one of them died of covid.

I dislike the institution of monarchy but I still think the only reasonable response to this news is "good". I'm impressed they waited this long tbh.

And YY to hoping Sir David has been done.

Yes. I thought this. Very glad they've had it.
maddiemookins16mum · 09/01/2021 16:40

Brilliant, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be quite rightly relieved.
Good on them.

You are quite right.
RickiTarr · 09/01/2021 16:42

@Imiss2019

Good. Sensible to do their’s at home. Can you imagine the extra costs and logistics and security if they’d had to go to the local surgery?
That’s not even up for discussion is it?

Royalty don’t go to public clinics, except in communist nations and Sue Townsend novels.

JinglingHellsBells · 09/01/2021 16:42

It can be transported, or how else would anyone get it?

It's got to be kept at -75C but there is a slight leeway and maybe Windsor C has very special fridges just for this! Or a refrigerated special delivery vehicle drove it right to their front door.

Armi · 09/01/2021 16:43

@Sarahandduck18

What a waste.
I see we are still in the grip of the Complete Twat outbreak on MN. It’s particularly virulent at the moment.
Nospringchickendipper · 09/01/2021 16:43

I’m glad they’ve had it and that they have let the public know. Not that they needed to but hopefully it will reassure people

Andante57 · 09/01/2021 16:46

Where or when do royalty go to public clinics in communist countries?
I didn’t think there were royal families in communist countries - those which survived live/d in exile, don’t they?
Maybe China.

Not 100% sure about Charles, tbh Grin
MintyMabel · 09/01/2021 16:50

Good news. Hopefully it sends a message to some who were worried about it.

Calmandmeasured1 · 09/01/2021 16:51

Fantastic news. That shows there aren't any unforeseen adverse effects on the elderly. We can be more assured that everyone's great grandparents, grandparents and parents will not suffer undue effects from the vaccine.
