Have most over 80s been called for vaccine now?

Do you have a family member over 80 who has not had the call yet?

My DF still hasn't heard. All other family members over 80 have had already theirs, or have appointments this week.

He has underlying conditions that would put him at particular risk and he's refusing to shield Hmm so hoping it won't be much longer.

South Yorkshire, neighbours in 70s are having theirs on Thursday night. My mum 82 had hers 10 days ago.

Phyllis321 · 19/01/2021 13:38

DF is almost 91 and hasn’t heard.

oldfatandtired1 · 19/01/2021 14:15

90 year old Mum still hasn’t heard. She’s in Scotland where apparently there are issues with supply.

redsquirrelfan · 19/01/2021 14:29

My 81 year old mum in Devon texted me today to say she is having hers tomorrow.

Babyroobs · 19/01/2021 14:50

My dad still has not had his.

Whirlwind14 · 19/01/2021 15:22

My dad 81 had a call yesterday and they offered it to my over 70 clinically vulnerable mum too. Such a relief!!

sundowners · 19/01/2021 15:50

My mum 70+ has been called with her appointment.

Amidone · 19/01/2021 16:24

Over 1000 over 80s at my 83 year old relative's GP practice. They're going in strict age order and have done 200 so far as that's all the supplies they've had. This is going to take a while.

Amidone · 19/01/2021 16:24

My 83 year old relative has just been told to wait and not call at all.

lljkk · 19/01/2021 17:50

Only 14% of the over80s in my county were jabbed as of about 6pm yesterday. They only started in my local district 5 days ago.

Loveatortie · 19/01/2021 17:56

88 year old grandad not had his or a callSad

PlantMam · 19/01/2021 18:00

My GP are currently contacting group 4 (70-75 year olds and all CEV adults except pregnant women) to offer clinic appointments, so we must be ahead of schedule.

orangenasturtium · 19/01/2021 19:13

They are only halfway through Group 1 where DM lives, which explains why she hasn't heard anything yet. They haven't even finished vaccinating clinical staff at the local hospital. She was told she should expect to get an appointment in mid February (Group 2) by her GP (she had an online appointment today). I'm not sure how the government can claim it is on track to vaccinate the 4 most vulnerable groups by 15 February, if her GP is correct.

MTBer2021 · 20/01/2021 00:37

It seems a key factor is how large the GP practice you're with is. I have family over 80 who are at a practice with over 800 over 80s and their friends who are patients at smaller practices with less over 80s have had the jab ahead of them. The vaccine amounts given to individual practices don't seem to be based on the size of their over 80s cohort.

Ozgirl75 · 20/01/2021 04:10

My parents are in Sussex, aged 74 and are having theirs on Saturday.

Lurkingforawhile · 21/01/2021 18:02

My surgery is huge, and only started vaccinating last week, so very pleased to be called to have mine on Saturday. I'm CEV so in group 4. I wonder if they are just doing all four groups at the same time. They have 14000 in the top four groups they've said. All very efficient, and updating people via Facebook including answering some questions which I think is above and beyond!

PrincessNutNuts · 21/01/2021 20:53

None of our 4 have been called. Sad

The FT had this:

caringcarer · 22/01/2021 08:17

I think they have done just over a half of over 80's now. My FiL is 82 and CEV and he has not been offered Jab yet.

Lardycake4me · 22/01/2021 08:31

My 97 year old DM had a letter last week inviting her to be vaccinated at a racecourse which is 2 hours away by public transport or an expensive taxi ride.

PrincessNutNuts · 22/01/2021 10:17

Great Uncle in a care home is getting his over the weekend. Smile

The other three have not heard anything yet.

PrincessNutNuts · 22/01/2021 10:17

Tell her to hang on. Local surgeries and chemists will have some soon.
