It’s back under a new name “clap for heroes.”

OP posts:
Boulshired · 06/01/2021 13:39

It will be cold and dark, definitely not

hamsterchump · 06/01/2021 13:40

Lord no, have we not suffered enough? Anything but the clap.

grapewine · 06/01/2021 13:41

Such patronising tripe.

helloxhristmas · 06/01/2021 13:41

No chance.

Cheesybiscuits01 · 06/01/2021 13:42

I'm an NHS worker seeing patients face to face until last week when I've moved to working from home due to pregnancy. To be honest I would much rather people just followed the rules and didn't shout at me me when I tell them they need a covid test due to their cough or lie about symptoms to get a face to face appointment. I won't be clapping this time and will be pretty annoyed at my neighbours who have been breaking rules with parties if they are all out clapping!

SabrinaTheMiddleAgedBitch · 06/01/2021 13:43

Of all the defeat I have felt over the last few days this has topped it

Tarantallegra · 06/01/2021 13:45

No, I'd rather do something of practical use. Not to mention all the carers I know do shift work and it's ruined their valued sleep more than once with the competitive loudness!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 06/01/2021 13:45

No

wanderings · 06/01/2021 13:45

Fuck, no.

Instead I am going to use a megaphone (yes, really, I have one), and keep shouting "Boris is a TWAT" for the duration of any clapping.

Confused sounds worse somehow
KatherineJaneway · 06/01/2021 13:46

No. I appreciate what they do but I don't think 'clapping' them is a good way of thanking them.

Sonicthehedgehogg · 06/01/2021 13:46

Absolutely not. They need to read the room. We don't need novelty now. We just want to get through this.

FWIW I'll be AT work tomorrow at 8pm hiding in the loos

Justforphoto · 06/01/2021 13:47

Pass me my earplugs please, I have over enthusiastic neighbours. It got deafening last time, they were setting off fireworks and all sorts.

Besides everyone then goes and stands around chatting, getting drunk, ends up as an impromptu party and I'd rather not get involved

shouldistop · 06/01/2021 13:48

Absolutely not, it's a lot of nonsense and every nhs frontline worker I know agrees.

AriesTheRam · 06/01/2021 13:48

No its virtue signalling

queenjaneappro · 06/01/2021 13:49

Dishwashervodka · 06/01/2021 13:53

No, of course I won't.
However, the reply to that tweet which read "it's past its sell-buy date" made me chuckle. I'd do spirit fingers every night till June for the supermarkets to make that change.

WarmSausageTea · 06/01/2021 13:56

Nope. It had its day and, I think, outstayed its welcome. It strikes me as poor judgement to try and revive the corpse of clap for carers.

praepondero · 06/01/2021 13:57

Why the flying fuck would you? Who wants the less illuminated sector of the society to clap about like fucking elephant seals in heat?
Who would benefit from it?
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

HOkieCOkie · 06/01/2021 13:57

No I’m not gonna clap for people doing a job they chose to do and are being paid to do.

KeepOnKeepingOnKeepingOn · 06/01/2021 13:58

@HOkieCOkie hear hear!

YoniAndGuy · 06/01/2021 13:58

Horrible idea. How fucking calculating. Hate this shower of shits in government and don't tell me it's not them spinning at the centre of this.

They can go rub shit on their hands and clap BoZo's.

joystir59 · 06/01/2021 13:58

God no, it's so embarrassing and patronising. Have never participated and never would. Cringeworthy.

PurpleDaisies · 06/01/2021 13:59

No.

Dowser · 06/01/2021 14:00

No way
It’s shite
