Covid test results

Hiya

How long did it take you to receive a covid test result.

DH did his 4 days ago but hasn't heard back. Are they still giving results out on bank holidays?.

Times are really variable so you just have to sit tight I'm afraid. I think you can chase the result if you've not heard after 5 days. And yes they send results out 24/7.

We got our results Christmas Day after testing on Monday

There are long delays, due in part to the high number of tests being done for those who think a test means they can mix with whoever they want to over Xmas plus the high demand for testing as the spread increases

We tested Tuesday, posted at 2pm, received 9pm same day. DH got his result Wednesday 6am. DD and I are still waiting.
When we did our tests (home tests), DH's didn't register correctly so he had to call up and they did it manually. I wonder if that makes a difference to him getting his first.

I had mine done Tuesday 22nd in Greater London in a drive - thru. Only got them back about an hour ago. Positive!

It's super variable: I needed one 23rd (lunchtime) and got back in just under 24 hours. A relative needed theirs on 25th (which clearly was not a popular testing time!) and results were back in 15 hours. (East of England).

55hrs here DD took test Christmas Eve morning, result came back today at 3pm - in South West.

There's no standard timescales, if you want to read how long people wait have a look in this topic, there are loads of threads on this, sadly knowing how long others waited will tell you nothing about how long you will have to wait Grin

I had mine tuesday afternoon and got the results friday at 3am - by which time we'd cancelled Christmas!!

This is Gloucestershire - colleagues have all had results within 72 hours at latest.

Tested at 10.15am today and received the results by text at 8pm tonight.
They were taken because I'm having an operation on Tuesday.

Have you had results yet? We also tested Wednesday morning at a drive thru and not had any results yet - 4 of us.

DS and I both tested Tuesday pm, got DS's result on Saturday morning, mine took an extra 14 hours to come through.

System seems to be under strain. I posted my son’s test at3pk on Tuesday -no result yet. We’ve done several this way before and usually hear in 36 hours.
