Covid test results

Hiya

How long did it take you to receive a covid test result.

DH did his 4 days ago but hasn't heard back. Are they still giving results out on bank holidays?.

Same area for us too.....

I did a home test on Monday evening and only got the results Saturday evening (shortly after phoning for a status update).

Really variable. In London here, I got my positive result 21hrs after being tested (Sunday evening 6.30pm to 3pm Monday), but had friends waiting Sunday to Wednesday and Monday to Thursday

DH's positive result came through in 20 hours last week, in Kent. Next door neighbour had a test on 19 December and results have been lost. Same test centre.

Did you take tests at the racecourse? In some ways it's reassuring that I'm not the only one waiting from Wednesday. At least I don't feel like they lost my test.

@Devoilmum Nope, still no result. It’s been 98.5 hours!! Ridiculous

I tested Christmas Eve, got my results Christmas Day around 8am. It must vary massively depending on where you live.

@JinglesWish we must’ve tested the same time. I wonder if it was the same test site?

@Treacle200 - we didn’t test there but same area-ish.

I’ve also seen on a local FB group that others are waiting for results from the same day.

Maybe they’ve lost the whole batch?

Me and DD tested at 11.30am on Christmas Eve. Her negative result came through at 8pm on 26th, I’m still waiting for mine

Also I just went on to try to book another test and nearest site coming up is Haslemere. So it does look like they have capacity issues in E Sussex...

we've not heard back and it's been 5 days now.

Been waiting a bit more than 3 days now. You can chase on the 6th day says our leaflet.

@CityDweller - did you book another test? More are available now at the racecourse.

I called the number but just a recorded message to say they’re too busy to chase results.

Has anyone from 23rd heard yet?

I phoned 119 yesterday to double check my details were registered properly. They said that I could chase after 5 days.

@Treacle200 @Devoilmum I tested at the racecourse wed 16th December and came back the following sat 19th December 78hours later - longest it’s been there (22hours previously) or the stadium (we’ve done a few tests in this house...) I imagine the time for return has got worse possibly with people checking before they went away for Christmas when they might not have otherwise (not agreeing with this just suspect it happened)..

@Devoilmum no I haven’t rebooked yet. I’m going to give it until tomorrow morning (will be five days then) and try calling. If no joy I’ll book again.

What a shambles...

Can anyone answer this please? Do results come in 24/7 or only 9-5.30 (roughly office hours)?

I've started checking my email complusively and want to stop.

P.S. my daughter's (positive) result came back on a weekday about 4.30pm

Mine came in at 6am, DD's came in at 3am.

I'd assume they send out in batches.

From what I've read, emails are 24/7 but text come in more sociable hours.

I called 119 today and the automated message said they cannot chase up test results due to high volumes.

We posted one on Wednesday and haven’t heard anything yet.
