Anyone tested v recently? Wondered how long ppl are waiting for results? I'm guessing lots of ppl testing ahead of Christmas. Tested this afternoon, they've said within 72 hours...

OP posts:

Tested yesterday (tuesday) at 11am. No results yet. A friend had hers back in 48 hours (result back yesterday) but the postal one her husband took was 5 days. Really really hoping they come back tomorrow! If it's positive well I'll be a bit upset, but not as upset as if I just don't hear.

Missmonkeypenny · 23/12/2020 22:08

Tested 9am Monday morning, still waiting..

UglyHoose · 23/12/2020 22:08

Tested at a drive through in Northamptonshire Monday lunchtime, they said results should be back in 48 hours, woke to a text this morning.

Same...no result yet 😩

PinkTinsel99 · 23/12/2020 22:12

Tested yesterday at 2.30. Negative result came by text just after 5pm (North West)

That's exactly how I feel. I've already cancelled seeing family indoors whatever the result, but it would be upsetting not to see them for a walk because we hadn't had the result and then find out it was negative a day later... but we will do the responsible thing regardless.

This! Mainly because DH is isolating in the spare room because of a positive work tests and we are both awaiting 'official ' test results. At least if we both have it we can get on and have a normal (hah!) Christmas rather than me running round like a headless chicken doing everything
BettyBo33 · 23/12/2020 22:19

Tested yesterday afternoon privately, results this evening. Positive. Shocked. Had the test as family member can get hold of them easily and wanted to check before seeing my mum who is my support bubble (single parent)No symptoms yesterday, slightly like I’ve got a cold coming on now...obviously covid! Luckily I’ve wrapped all the presents etc so if it hits me tomorrow or Xmas day I’m as good as prepared.

ImFree2doasiwant · 23/12/2020 22:21

We had an outdoor Christmassy light walk planned tomorrow night. And Christmas day was going to be at my parents house. I have no Christmas food in the house. Just me and 2 small DC. Who are going crackers with excitement and being stuck in..

annie987 · 23/12/2020 22:23

We tested Monday morning in the midlands and still nothing. 60 hours so far!

DoThePropeller · 23/12/2020 23:01

Monday 8:30am and still waiting here too. SW London/Surrey.

Hippymama · 23/12/2020 23:41

Tested at midday in the south west on Monday. Results came through today (Wednesday) at 8am. Unfortunately they were inconclusive so we had to go and test again. Test today was at 12.30. Fortunately we hadn't planned to go anywhere or see anyone so the results (or waiting for them) won't really impact us too much.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 23/12/2020 23:48

My work colleague tested yesterday lunchtime and had results back early afternoon today so 24 hours. That's in Tier 3, east Midlands area.

Reindeermayhem · 23/12/2020 23:58

That is quick Cuppaandtwobiscuits - I am East Mids and was sure my test was lost! Was so nice to take my dc out for a short splash in puddles today.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 24/12/2020 00:02

Home kits posted Monday .No results yet.

Feelingfree · 24/12/2020 00:06

Daughter had test Monday, received positive test back today so 48 hours. My son and I showing symptoms today so got a late test (7pm), don’t expect to get results this side of Christmas. In Surrey, tier 4.

KinderWild · 24/12/2020 00:11

Same as @Northernsoulgirl45. Sent my test back Monday. Not had results yet.

vodkaredbullgirl · 24/12/2020 01:06

Hopefully mine will be in today. Luckily ever test I've had at work have been negative.

Rubybluesy · 24/12/2020 01:31

I was hoping 48 hours, sent today

ImFree2doasiwant · 24/12/2020 06:12

Just got ours, 2 x negative. So relieved! 42 hours.

Sowhatywhaty · 24/12/2020 06:16

@KinderWild

Same as *@Northernsoulgirl45*. Sent my test back Monday. Not had results yet.
Same here - posted Monday! I'm in Essex
Missmonkeypenny · 24/12/2020 08:28

Still waiting from 9am Monday, 72 hours Hmm

Zippy1510 · 24/12/2020 08:40

Mine took around 30 hours this week. It was a drive through. The postal ones are taking longer.

Missmonkeypenny · 24/12/2020 08:43

Mine was also a drive in! Previous drive in took 18 hours so 72 hours and still waiting seems mad!
