I am in the South East in a tier 4 area. I don’t know anyone directly who has had a positive result (to my knowledge) but I know of a couple who think they had it in March / April and then recently I’ve heard is about 5/6 people indirectly ie friend’s father / friend’s lodger / friend’s colleague etc who I have never met but live locally. 1 of them has died (was already frail with underlying conditions), the others recovered or recovering

nextdoorshush · 20/12/2020 22:18

20, 2 dead one was 40s and no known conditions, 1 in 60 care home with with dementia.
1 survived but with kidney failure at 22 again no previous conditions. and 1 has had a stroke.

endoflevelbaddy · 20/12/2020 22:18

5 I know of - 2 cousins, my aunt & a mum & son my DDs at school with.
Other DD had to isolate twice because of symptoms at after school club but no idea who or if tested positive.
DH has had 2 colleagues on top of that tested positive. Considering he's frontline it's not many really.

NichyNoo · 20/12/2020 22:19

Liverpool city region here - I know one person in London who had it in March, one friend in France and two people in my home town (one was fine, one died but was very old with advanced lung disease). Other people «think» they have had it but not tested. That is it in ten months.

RoseMartha · 20/12/2020 22:22

Two
A family friend who was elderly and in hospital for non covid then caught it and died.

An acquaintance who had long covid but ok now.

Neither live/d in my town.

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 20/12/2020 22:26

I’ve lost count. Maybe 15 or so confirmed cases. But I know dozens - well over 50 - who were ill in March with classic Covid symptoms and were never tested. Two thirds of my office, so 20 people, all fell ill on 12 March. Many friends here in London. Four sets of neighbours...

EmmanuelleMakro
Of course they still ventilate people! They just don't ventilate right away like they did at the beginning.
If CPAP doesn't work then ventilation is the next step.

I have lost count of the amount of people I know who have had it ( frontline NHS)
A few were hospitalised.
One died (40s no underlying)
One had a stroke after at 37 with no underlying or risk factors.

NovemberR · 20/12/2020 22:29

Lost count.

All of us in this household. Half a dozen colleagues (and several of their family members). Quite a lot of DCs classmates and others in the school. Several of their teachers and families.

Rosecottage888 · 20/12/2020 22:30

2 in my work team (of 10)

One back in April, 5 weeks in hospital, 3 weeks in an out an induced coma, pneumonia, kidney failure, tracheotomy, wife had 'the call' from hospital twice. Had us all very worried but is now back at work! The other tested positive last week in a routine test and is completely asymptomatic.

Great uncle admitted to hospital last week after a fall, now has covid.

Friends of friends - about 15

NichyNoo · 20/12/2020 22:31

I also know of two people who died of other causes and in both cases the doctor signing the death certificate asked relatives if they wanted him to note the cause of death as COVID on the death certificate in order to expedite the funeral.....

Jojojo32 · 20/12/2020 22:31

0!!

sleepwouldbenice · 20/12/2020 22:32

About 40 to 50 but not direct friends or family e.g. work colleagues. One direct
3 deaths this time round. One already acutely ill, one underlying condition but no where near "due" to die, one with no underlying health issues
Another 3 hospitalized briefly

Littleguggi · 20/12/2020 22:32

3, 1 sadly passed away.

Requinblanc · 20/12/2020 22:34

None who had a Covid diagnosis confirmed and one who suspects she had it in early March. I am in London.

middleager · 20/12/2020 22:35

20-30 including work colleagues, friends and my one son (whose school is rife with cases). Tier 3, West Midlands

PumpernickelThanksgiving · 20/12/2020 22:35

Asymptomatic collleague - no one else at all. Friends of friends but beyond this man in the office, no one at all.

middleager · 20/12/2020 22:35

@middleager

20-30 including work colleagues, friends and my one son (whose school is rife with cases). Tier 3, West Midlands
Oh and two hospitalised.
desperatelyseeking1 · 20/12/2020 22:36

I've known 3 people since March (2 from my hobby and one from work) - London based.

Melange99 · 20/12/2020 22:37

An aunt in USA aged 90 had it. She's okay.

Other than that, nobody.

dustyknickers · 20/12/2020 22:37

4 - Dh, dd ds's girlfriend and me, all the others were mild, but I was hospitalized and still have pneumonia 7 weeks later.

Bookaholic73 · 20/12/2020 22:38

I’m in Cornwall and I don’t know of anyone at all who has had it.

Tomorrowsanotherday1 · 20/12/2020 22:39

About 20
4 sadly died
1 in ICU for over a month and was very close to dying (family facetimed goodbyes) but miraculously fought it
1 currently in ICU now

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 20/12/2020 22:40

2 deaths, 1 left with irreversable kidney damage, 4 have been ok. East Midlands.

whatshalliget · 20/12/2020 22:40

Between my kids’ secondary school and the one I work in, many.

Labobo · 20/12/2020 22:40

2 of DC's friends had it mildly very early on. In bed for a couple of days.
No one since.
