My brother's girlfriend and my brother's mate

OP posts:

Two. One colleague and one friend. Colleague was quite poorly. Friend has been working on Covid ICU since February and tested positive last week. He is feeling ok.

DramaAlpaca · 20/12/2020 20:56

Acquaintances and friends of friends, quite a lot. Close friends and family, none.

SpeckledyHen · 20/12/2020 20:56

2 men , neither hospitalised.

40somethingJBJ · 20/12/2020 20:58

12 personally. Which is actually quite a lot as I don’t have a huge social circle. One died, 3 others hospitalised. One completely asymptomatic and got routinely tested at work.

Guineapigbridge · 20/12/2020 20:58

Wow this brings it home. I'm so sorry for everyone who's had someone die or whose life has been turned upside down.
I know none. I'm in NZ. Life is normal here. The only place in the world where life is normal.

Ferrylights · 20/12/2020 20:58

1 person, very mild symptoms - and I work in healthcare visiting care homes, individuals in the community and hospitals. The 1 person was a patient on my caseload and no other patients or staff caught it.
I know lots of people, hundreds...I have a big family and huge social circle yet no one I know has had it

Trinacham · 20/12/2020 20:59

2 personally. I work for a large company and there has been a handful of colleagues, who I don't know and work in different departments, that have tested positive as well.

Northernsoullover · 20/12/2020 20:59

12 confirmed, one died and one has long covid. Possibly another 5 from the first wave.

EmmanuelleMakro · 20/12/2020 21:00

Quite a few early on at my sports club-none serious. At work (school) several teachers early on/none serious, no known cases in the children thi several tested, and today a friend from another sports club /no symptoms but was attending hospital for -an unrelated procedure and was tested and surprised to be found positive.

Trinacham · 20/12/2020 21:00

@Trinacham

2 personally. I work for a large company and there has been a handful of colleagues, who I don't know and work in different departments, that have tested positive as well.
To add, as far as I know, all cases have been mild and recovered well!
3littlewords · 20/12/2020 21:01

6 all mild none required hospital treatment or had any further complications

London1305f · 20/12/2020 21:01

12, London cases have gone crazy over the last few weeks.

itsmymess · 20/12/2020 21:01

None personally.
16 pupils in the secondary school I work at between Sept-Dec

Tier 4 area 🤣🤣

fullycharged · 20/12/2020 21:02

0 confirmed. A couple of possible mild suspected cases, but never tested.

PinkPlantCase · 20/12/2020 21:02

10 I think. One was an 80 year old who caught it as an impatient. He thankfully had it very mildly and didn’t need any treatment for it when in hospital.

Varying ages. I don’t know anyone personally that needed hospitalisation.

EmmanuelleMakro · 20/12/2020 21:02

And a friend of friend currently in a grave condition on a ventilator
Really? Ventilators no longer used for treatment as made it worse! Sajid the mayor said that is why the Nightingale government hospitals not used as ‘they were set up for ventilators’

frustrationcentral · 20/12/2020 21:04

5 - mum of one of DS's friends, DS's Dad, 2 younger siblings and his Dads ex wife. DS's Dad was pretty rough for a good 3 weeks, everyone else had it fairly mildly. Without wanting to sound horrible I'm a little pleased he wasn't well with it, he's been very arrogant about the whole thing and maybe this has given him a kick up the backside..

BeakyWinder · 20/12/2020 21:04

Personally, i.e. well enough to tell me themselves - 3. Heard of a few more at work, then my mum tells me about various random acquaintances she hears about.

Kolo · 20/12/2020 21:04

I know personally 5 people who have it right now. Lost count over this year. No one in my household has had it to my knowledge.

AethelsWhiteGoose · 20/12/2020 21:05

Me, dh, dc, brother, sil, best friend in nhs, her dh, dc, other friends and sadly my grandparent died of it.

BlueBlancmange · 20/12/2020 21:05

Whenever I read threads like this it seems the death rate must be quite a bit higher than 1%. It seems common to some one posting of knowing, for example, 6 people and one died.

happytoday73 · 20/12/2020 21:05

Tier 3 area... 8 at work, another 4 suspected but before testing. 4 close relatives in autumn , 4 neighbours (1 died) , one good friend (hospitalised), 3 children in children's classes..
Luckily Most few symptoms or felt like bad but different version of flu...

inquietant · 20/12/2020 21:06

About fifteen, mostly a big cluster.

Nonamesavail · 20/12/2020 21:06

...

ofwarren · 20/12/2020 21:06

5
Me, my son, my dad my brother - all mild
