2 for me

My brother's girlfriend and my brother's mate

OP posts:
Bunbunbunny · 21/12/2020 01:13

Lost count, 4 dead

GlowingOrb · 21/12/2020 01:16

Up to 4 now. Most of the people in my circle have been lucky enough to wfh since March and can afford to have basically everything delivered. The ones who have gotten sick have been teachers and one who works on construction sites.

BrrrIsland · 21/12/2020 01:16

This time last week: no one with a definite diagnosis (although lots self diagnosed and a colleagues husband was in icu for months)

Since Monday: 8! I work in a (primary) school though and it’s spread. I’m currently self isolating due to contact until 27th

ItisRainingAgain · 21/12/2020 01:44

None, but I’m not in the UK

ShitUsername · 21/12/2020 01:47

My friend reckons she had it at the start of the year before testing was properly rolled out, other than that no one I know personally (central Scotland)

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 21/12/2020 01:50

10-15 some family, some through work, some just heard about

EmmaGrundyForPM · 21/12/2020 01:54

Loads. At least 20. I don't know anyone who has been hospitalised with it though, let alone died.

One of my best friend's aunts died of it, but I never met her.

BaublesToIt · 21/12/2020 02:02

5 - DH and our 4 DC, all very mildly.

Eliards2012 · 21/12/2020 02:20

I know 7 confirmed positive cases, 2 x dds friends (secondary), mil - she’s still recovering, 1 a family friend had it mildly, but sadly my 2 uncles and 1 Aunty died.

Lovelydovey · 21/12/2020 02:26

A massively increasing number - South London. Cases at school, DC’s football teams, family, work colleagues and their families (though we are all WFH). Wondering how long it is till we catch it....

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 21/12/2020 07:03

Loafs.
And at least 5 people who have lost relatives.

What is the point of your question OP?

tunnocksreturns2019 · 21/12/2020 08:00

None.

LadyLazaruss · 21/12/2020 08:03

None

MrsFluffyMuff · 21/12/2020 08:04

I know 3 people who had it. All very mild cases, all absolutely fine. Age between 30 and 74.

DailyPotion · 21/12/2020 08:34

Until 3 weeks ago, 2 in the whole thing.

Now, 23. And these are people I would count as close acquaintances, not friends of friends.

There's been a very significant change here in the last couple of weeks.

Labobo · 21/12/2020 09:01

@Givemeabreak88 - I feel the same. We are in a South East hot spot but I only know two teens - months ago who felt a bit off colour. No one else at all. No one in our village - and we all know each other. No relatives or friends of relatives, right across UK, none of my friends, their children or relatives. I can't understand how some people seem to know so many and have been hit so badly while some of us in hotspots have not been impacted at all, so far.

SantaAssociationRepresentitve · 21/12/2020 09:34

Approx 20 but I work in a school

countrygirl99 · 21/12/2020 10:02
  1. 2 just chilled on the sofa for a couple of days and felt fine by the time they got their test results. The other 2 needed a couple of days in bed and were back at work (WFH) in a week.
hedgehogger1 · 21/12/2020 10:04

Loads. Too many to count, but then I'm a teacher and my kids have had a lot of cases in their school too

skyvv90 · 21/12/2020 10:18

My mum had it and just about everyone at her residential home (30+ people, not including staff most of whom also had it). At my new job one person just had it a week ago and her close family. There have probably been others in my extended circle that I haven't heard about yet. I was furloughed for months at my last job so haven't caught up with everyone for ages but I'm guessing at least a few had it there.

ChaToilLeam · 21/12/2020 10:27

My elderly neighbours, thankfully survived though the husband is still frail
A school friend, who had it right at the start and ended up with long Covid
A friend’s son, who ended up in ICU but recovered
Another friend currently has it but seems not too bad
A friend’s elderly mum, who tested positive but had no major symptoms
A colleague who had it twice, mild symptoms each time

2 friends have lost very close relatives to this disease, so we are taking it seriously and are thankful that it hasn’t touched us yet.

Apple1971 · 21/12/2020 10:31

9 direct family.

Partners mum, dad, sister, bil and auntie

Then her sister and nephew

Then her then me (currently recovering)

None of us have been in contact with each other - we all live in different places

Mumofsend · 21/12/2020 10:36

I personally don't know anyone. DDs school had a bubble pop but no idea who it was.

polkadotpixie · 21/12/2020 10:46

Quite a few colleagues (I work in a hospital)..maybe 8 or 9. One was quite ill but not hospitalised and the others were either asymptotic or cold/flu level of ill. All now fine

A friend's parent died but he was in his 70s with very serious underlying health conditions so whilst sad, not surprising

I swore I had it back in March (fever and loss of smell/taste) but my antibody test said not. No-one in my immediate family despite us working in hospitals, schools and care homes
