I’m on CPAP. Everyone is doing their best to keep me alive but I feel traumatised. Family and friends are still asleep. Is anyone there to talk to me?

So pleased to see no more messages from you overnight. Am hoping that means you've been sleeping.

What's your favourite Ave most hated thing about Christmas?
I love the food and twinkly lights, hate the compulsive gift giving and constant nagging sense of guilt.

LittleSpyintheSky · 22/12/2020 06:23

I hate the cards, so glad they are on the way out - and all the over consumption. We need to tread more lightly on the planet.

Hate the pressure on women to create perfection - we are responsible for that and we should stop it.

Family and good friends just want to share our company, have a giggle, and some good nosh. Perfection can be intimidating anyway and it can leave you flat and wanting more.

But I don’t know 😂 everyone dies it their way xxxx

Everyone does it🤣🤣

Morning op! I agree on the Christmas card front and the desire for damn elusive perfection!
Hope you continue to improve today. Press ups later?GrinFlowers

FuzzyPuffling · 22/12/2020 07:26

Now, I'm a card lover ( within reason) especially this year when DH and I have been shielding and seen no one, been nowhere. ( He's CEV, I'm CV and we're not risking it) It's the only time of year that post is both personal and interesting.

I could do without outdoor lights and rampant consumerism.

But thank goodness we're all different! And enough about "blooming Christmas" as Raymond Briggs would have it...

What's for breakfast today, Little Spy?

SophieB100 · 22/12/2020 07:42

How are you feeling today OP?
Hope you had a comfortable night. Flowers

Stillfunny · 22/12/2020 08:25

Another day over. Hope today brings a little more strength to you. You are sounding so much more positive and coping well with the CPAP.
May you continue to recover and heal Flowers

Morning OP. I've just caught up with your posts. I hope you're doing ok
.

LemonBreeland · 22/12/2020 11:56

Morning OP, I've just come across this thread. I hope you are continuing to improve and can get off the CPAP soon.

I also love Meatloaf. I saw him in 1993, and the last time he'd played that part of the UK was 1977, the year I was born.

LittleSpyintheSky · 22/12/2020 12:41

Lemon - his music continues to be awesome. I’m glad you youngsters love him too 💐

I saw hit later than 77 though. Maybe 79-81

I have been quite sad reading threads where people say we have overreacted. Listen, this hospital is already full. A nurse told me. There are people backed up in A&E.

This hospital doesn’t realise it’s not January yet. It’s already too late!

Please, don’t let the doubters win - please, I beg you.

LittleSpyintheSky · 22/12/2020 12:49

And they are training people up. Every shift there is someone learning the ropes. Don’t give up on the NHS - if we care enough we can make it rise from the ashes. This might be our silver lining xxxx

Have just read this thread and my goodness OP you are one hell of a woman. Keep on fighting, you sound amazing! I agree with wishing people would take more heed of the warnings. I think the NHS is in real danger of being utterly swamped beyond anything we’ve seen before and that is terrifying.

Johan23 · 22/12/2020 18:35

Hi Op! How are you this evening?

LittleSpyintheSky · 22/12/2020 21:16

Good evening my lovelies. Good news from me. I’ve kicked CPAP’s backside. Off it goes into the sunset.

I’m now on something that goes up your nose and blows oxygen in that way. I swear to God the first time they stuck a wind tunnel behind it and blew a chunk of my upper skull off. I had a massive headache.

It’s fine now and the plan is to graduallly reduce the oxygen until I don’t need it anymore. I’m on my way up and out. But not yet!

I’m very saddened by how hard it is in here for some of the ladies. The staff are working so hard and are do caring. I wish you could see how they work together. You would be very proud. I am.

I’ve been sitting out of bed all day. I watched some Dickensian on iPlayer. Fabulous writing and acting. Pauline Colllins - what a superstar. Always a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

Now I’m realll shattered, so I might not be around a great deal. I hope I’m not.

Take care everyone and thank you all for your continuingg support and company xxxx
