How many times has your family isolated

A lady on another thread said they have been isolating on and off since September, as childrens bubble at school kept having cases. I wonder is this normal? My family and I haven’t had to isolate at all yet, which I know could happen at any time. How many times have you had to self isolate since September and what area are you in?

DDs have had 2 periods of isolation each (once Y10 and ok be Y12) as being close contacts. Both DP and I teach so we've been tested 5 times between us.

CeibaTree · 28/11/2020 21:32

Not at all. SW London.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/11/2020 21:33

IcyApril · 28/11/2020 21:34

Twice - south east. One when a child tested positive at nursery, another when we had coughs so tested (negative).

Twice. Once DS had a temperature and once I had a cough. Had to isolate until results came back (luckily negative). We're South West. A local friend has had 8 tests between her family so they've had 8 isolations.

Parky04 · 28/11/2020 23:13

None - Berkshire.

DonnatellaLyman · 28/11/2020 23:19

Once for covid
Many many times for a day or two pending tests.
3yo and 8mo, london flat Biscuit

My DD spent half of her first 2 months of life in isolation!

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 28/11/2020 23:28

None.

Feckers2018 · 28/11/2020 23:39

Once. North West. Teacher.

WotsitWiggle · 28/11/2020 23:47

None since September, south east.

DDs school has had only 2 confirmed cases that required any children to isolate, both year 11, plus another 3 cases confirmed over half term that didn't need anyone to isolate (1 yr 9 and 2 yr 11s), and a teacher.

We isolated right at the beginning - the week before lockdown, when Boris said all household members to isolate if one person got sick. No test to confirm, but DH wasn't well so we all stayed home just in case (no fever or cough, but achy, weak and loss of taste and smell - it was two months before they confirmed that as a major symptom).

vevabrook · 28/11/2020 23:57

None. London, one dc in nursery, attending lots of indoor venues prior to lockdown2, going to busy parks and public transport during lockdown. DH and I wfh. None of us have needed tests.

CorianderQueen · 29/11/2020 00:03

Never - we also get weekly tests (part of a study) and have been negative every time.

Lemons1571 · 29/11/2020 00:06

Twice. Rural Cotswolds.

CovidPostingName · 29/11/2020 07:41

DS2 once, right now - finishes on Tuesday. Class bubble closed as teacher tested positive.
Rest of us - never, so far.

yeOldeTrout · 29/11/2020 07:44

DH had a cough for 48 hrs. We were supposed to isolate 24 hrs, his result was negative. No other isolation periods.

Colleague with 2 preschooler children says it's been nr constant isolation for her since September.

Tootsietoot · 29/11/2020 07:48

Ds1- 4 weeks DH tested positive and I almost certainly was.ill with it in March pre testing (plus 4 days of waiting for separate tests)

DD six weeks ( as above plus classmate)
Ds2 (six weeks (as above)

I've had a child at home for 8 weeks driven me insane!

Jessicabrassica · 29/11/2020 07:52

Never. Rural West Midlands. Dh & Ds at primary schools, DD at high school. I work clinically for NHS but in the community.
Most of my close friends have had to isolate once or twice.

Juanbablo · 29/11/2020 07:53
