What figures determine which tier you will be?

How is is decided what tier areas are placed in? Is the R rate ? The cases per 100000? Mixture of both?

Does anyone think their previous tier will change after lockdown whether it be up or down a tier?

I'm in London and assume Tier 3. Cases are still rising here. Thank goodness gyms will open though regardless.

I'm interested to know what we will be. In Cambridgeshire and was tier 1 with low numbers but talk of going into tier 2 just before lockdown. Numbers are higher here now so I wonder if we will be tier 2.

tbh, since in Tier 3 the pools will still be open & we don't have to have a 'reason' to leave home (do we?) in Tier 3, I'm realising it doesn't matter to my life too much what Tier I'm in.

That said, would like the local economy to be the least ruined possible, so Tier 1 would be great.
