Worried that the military and NHS are on standby to deliver vaccines

Just heard this on the BBC news at 6.Does this mean the military will be injecting people? Will it be mandatory for certain groups? This is rather worrying.

Or maybe 'flock immunity'?

If the Army can lose their most senior officer by dropping him in the wrong field, how many fridges will they lose?

Only worrying if you assume it was done by accident!

I like it!

Trebuchets are amazing. They have one at Warwick castle, they fire it twice a day and explain how it works. It must have been terrifying back in its day. Not great for flinging delicate hypodermic needles, though.
Oh I love the trebuchet there!
Nikki078 · 13/11/2020 10:50

Trebuchet are rubbish at firing hypodermic needles but an unladened swallow may manage

I can’t decide whether vaccine delivery by swallow is a wonderful idea or a terrible mistake that is bound to result in further terrifying mutations.

Avian flu is doing the rounds again, so perhaps genetically modified hornets instead?

You are a genius. Hopefully not an evil one.

This thread is wonderful on Fri 13th in a year 2020! It made my morning :)

Dominic, you're fired. Let it go.

Or what actually happened:
Helicopter lands in a different field to where the ‘welcome party’ are waiting. They run across to meet lonely General

Funny story gets passed around, put on social media and is picked up by the press

An African or a European swallow?

An excellent idea to rehabilitate the humble Hornet into polite society.

Rename them Medicinal Hornets.

They could even splice in some coding from Dysdercus Cingulatus to keep in with the Barber Surgeon colour scheme. Or a Red and White Irish Setter - then they'd also be able to train them to fly on leads and carry the super cold fridges around with them on little strings.

Doubt it! They held measles parties in the olden days. Better sanitation and nutrition has helped irradicate a lot of diseases.

The measles vaccination was introduced in the 1960s. By that time, sanitation and nutrition were already good in developed countries.

No doubt sanitation and nutrition have done a lot to improve health; but they aren't the whole story.

And, while there were indeed German measles (rubella) parties for little girls, because people hoped they would get it before childbearing age, I don't think there were actual measles parties.
