Worried that the military and NHS are on standby to deliver vaccines

Just heard this on the BBC news at 6.Does this mean the military will be injecting people? Will it be mandatory for certain groups? This is rather worrying.

I don't want to be a fingerless mutant, but I wouldn't mind some fingerless mittens.

Dispute the claims with actual evidence if you can.

Errr no. You started it. YOU dispute the scientifically proven facts with actual evidence from peer reviewed, reliable, sources and we’ll get back to you. Your the person that claimed that a vaccine can change your DNA after all.

As for your last post, that’s what we call ironic Alanis.

Bye Felicia!

None of your posts are facts. Only my posts are facts.

Bikingbear · 12/11/2020 17:19

When it comes to firing needles, what's their weapon of choice?
Is it fired from a suitable social distance or point blankHmm?
Where are they planning to aim - arse or arm??

4ds02719 · 12/11/2020 17:26

Name calling and derogatory remarks seem to mask the ability of many to make reasoned counter arguments. Bye bye pea brains!

Trump has found Mumsnet, hasn't he. It's the only explanation.

raviolidreaming · 12/11/2020 17:31

I'm loving the chem trail vaccine planes though Wink

Surely not - that was on the wrong answer thread (he hangs out in S&B)

Wasn't there a mythbusters where they failed to make ice bullets? How do you fire something with gunpowder that has to be kept very cold, without it overheating?
Bikingbear · 12/11/2020 17:41

Aww naw I forgot about the cold bit....you know those big ski centres that are basically a big freezer.....would it work in there???

TrojanWhore · 12/11/2020 17:42

Avoid the gunpowder and try a trebuchet?

Bikingbear · 12/11/2020 17:43

A what?

Bikingbear · 12/11/2020 17:45

I've just googled - a big catapult Smile

Runmybathforme · 12/11/2020 17:50

@BurningRose

Ps I had a positive covid test a few months ago so I won't need a vaccine. I now have natural immunity.

I worry about creeping authoritarianism though.

Research is showing that just because you’ve had the virus, it doesn’t necessarily provide lasting immunity. Really, your post is beyond ridiculous. The army will help out with logistics, we will need their help. Yes, probably people other than medics will probably be trained to administer the injections, it’s not difficult. This really belongs in the flat earth discussion.

For now long?

*how

pointythings · 12/11/2020 17:54

Trebuchets are amazing. They have one at Warwick castle, they fire it twice a day and explain how it works. It must have been terrifying back in its day. Not great for flinging delicate hypodermic needles, though.

PerkingFaintly · 12/11/2020 17:59

I love that this thread has brought out the trebuchet lovers.Grin

I always wanted one of these, though not exactly suitable for 2020 working habits. Maybe they could be repurposed with syringes?

PerkingFaintly · 12/11/2020 18:01

Oh, now, they also do ballistas! Much more suitable!

@BurningRose

I guess it is easier for some people on here to throw insults that debate the science and politics of a covid vaxcine. That's OK. Back to my semidetached bunker 😁
Did you read those who answered your post about RNA vaccines? And how you had misinterpreted the article YOU posted?

Or did you miss the 11 or so posts which didn’t insult you but explained it?

Maybe you didn’t understand their relies. Which makes sense. Seeing as you don’t seem to be able to understand much about the vaccine itself.

BlueBlancmange · 12/11/2020 18:26

@BurningRose

I love how sophisticated some of the counter arguments are on here. Name calling and derogatory remarks seem to mask the ability of many to make reasoned counter arguments. Bye bye pea brains!
Ah yes that other conspiracy theorist delusion and the thing that I assume is the ultimate pay off. The idea that you are just so much more intelligent than any one who does not believe such tripe.
SheepandCow · 12/11/2020 18:31

I have a conspiracy theory about the other conspiracy theory... The government is paying anti vaxxers - with a vaccine list queue jump - because, at least initially, there's such limited supply of the vaccines. They need to reduce demand. I've, very originally, named it the Sheep and Cow Theory. So far I'm the only member of the group but all are welcome to join. I have chocolate cake but no badges.

mpsw · 12/11/2020 18:33

There is of course a new worry in town

If the Army can lose their most senior officer by dropping him in the wrong field, how many fridges will they lose?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/11/2020 19:05

I do think you're onto something there. I'd rename it 'Herd Immunity' though Wink
