Here is my list. Will any/all these things be shut?

Swimming for adults? Club swimming for children? Tennis clubs for children?

My question is tradespeople - we're 2/3 of the way through a garage conversion (to a n office funnily enough), can my tradespeople come and finish? And the carpet fitter?

Yes to both. If you can't WFH, you go to work unless your industry is ordered to close e.g. hospitality/non-essential retail/leisure.

I am also wondering about the tip. It falls into the grey area yet again as they haven't been told to close but they don't fall under the essential reasons to leave home. Having said that non essential retail are allowed to remain open for click and collect so that must be considered ok.

I've seen the response above regarding a tutor in the child's home so does that work the other way, tutoring in a tutor's home?

The tutor is WFH which is allowed and the child is allowed to leave their home for education, so I'd say it's ok.

Just bear in mind that this is all guidance at present. When it becomes law there'll be further clarification which will probably confuse things even more

DS's tutor planning to tutor by zoom from next Saturday.

I'm assuming dental visits come under medical appointments?

I was wondering about dog groomers and dog walkers I don’t use a dog Walker but my sister does will they have to stop working like last time

I can’t see a reason not to unless the decorator doesn’t wish to or the customer doesn’t wish to. You can easily leave them alone to get on with it.

The Government website says:

"Some venues will be allowed to remain open for specific exempt activities, like childcare and support groups. Support groups that are essential to deliver in person can continue with up to 15 participants where formally organised to provide mutual aid, therapy or any other form of support. This includes support to victims of crime, people in drug and alcohol recovery, new parents and guardians, people with long-term illnesses, people facing issues relating to their sexuality or gender, and those who have suffered bereavement."

Asked a friend who's a driving instructor. He thinks lessons/tests will be ok but is waiting for this to become law and the final details to be announced.

Dog walkers probably ok. Groomers who work from a grooming salon, possibly not. Groomers working from their home, client's home or a van might be ok. Probably best to wait for final details.

That might be covered in more detail later. It's a bit vague in the guidelines. If not, local police might be able to advise.

Mobile beauty appointments ? Probably not, but seems silly as it's in your home and they're wearing PPE.

Apparently fishing is still allowed, thank goodness, DH goes a couple of times a week in winter

From the guidelines, these must close: personal care facilities such as hair, beauty and nail salons, tattoo parlours, spas, massage parlours, body and skin piercing services, non-medical acupuncture, and tanning salons. No mention of mobile services and you can go to work if you can't WFH (including working in someone's home). So yes, it would be fine.

Even if they're not shut people can't go as that would mean non-essential travel. So then they would shut anyway.

I don't understand why, two friends can walk their dogs, they can't play golf?

No mobile salons cannot operate

Orthodontists? They pretty much closed before.

I literally have an optician and an orthodontist appointment due, both postponed from lockdown one.... sigh...

I've been checking the council website today and they haven't said anything about or closing - we can only book online and I've booked a visit to the tip for 2 weeks time so I'll wait to see if it's cancelled?
