@PicsInRed Latest info shows between 17 and 25 percent of patients in hospital with covid caught it in there. Maybe they wouldn't be so overwhelmed if they invested in infection control.

By appearing alongside the government, the government basically makes the scientists complicit (at least in the public's eyes) in whatever policy / random accusation/ factually incorrect nonsense, slimes out of BoJo's mouth at any moment. Great for the government to deflect blame at future date X, but fairly immoral in fact.

Why do they agree to it? Most countries realise that politics/policy and scientific advice/research/observation are in fact two DIFFERENT things and therefore allow each to present separately.

We are not on any lists and not allowed to unilaterally join them. We know we're ECV but have to wait for someone somewhere to do some unspecified thing at some point to make that happen, apparently.
