Leaving the nation hanging around for his words of wisdom is not going to boost his popularity.

He needs to get to the point, the dilly dally is unbearable

PicsInRed · 31/10/2020 19:04

"We have got to be humble in the face of nature"

Fuck off

Gright · 31/10/2020 19:05

U-turn!

LovingKent · 31/10/2020 19:05

yawns JUST GET ON WITH IT

Pertella · 31/10/2020 19:05

His face is really distracting. Proper dodgy lighting

Wankerchief · 31/10/2020 19:05

The absolute waffle.

Miljea · 31/10/2020 19:05

Boris, you needed to look at those graphs, have them interpreted to you, then deliver The Message to us. Not show your workings.

You over-estimate a Brexit voting populace.

jambeforeclottedcream · 31/10/2020 19:05

@Cwenthryth

He does look really pale. He’s dithering as well. He knows he’s fucked up.

He also clearly doesn’t understand any of those charts at all!

Absolutely

The way he just summed up those graphs was awful

Vladtheunbaler · 31/10/2020 19:05

But chronic underfunding of the NHS and having one of the lowest bed capacities must surely be significant.

randomer · 31/10/2020 19:06

its embarassing. I can't stand him but my toes are curling.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 31/10/2020 19:08

Thursday until December, stay at home except for:

  • education
  • work of not possible to work from home
  • essential shopping
  • care
  • escaping harm
  • support bubbles
  • children moving between separated households

Restaurants, non-essential shops closed. Takeaways open.

Shielding not happening.

Furlough extended through to December.

Pertella · 31/10/2020 19:08

I missed what was said about nurseries

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 31/10/2020 19:08

Exercise also allowed.

Cwenthryth · 31/10/2020 19:08

Ah, interesting, click & collect still allowed for non-essential shops. That’s actually a good call.

Pertella · 31/10/2020 19:09

oh, he just said it again

meow1989 · 31/10/2020 19:09

Child care, school, universities will all remain open. Wonder if grandparents can still provide child care. And what about clinically vulnerable children?

danni0509 · 31/10/2020 19:09

Childcare and early years to continue @Pertella

the80sweregreat · 31/10/2020 19:09

So it's a mini lockdown of sorts.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 31/10/2020 19:09

Schools, nurseries and universities stay open.

Justnormajean · 31/10/2020 19:09

@pertella Early years staying open

Cam77 · 31/10/2020 19:10

Absolutely

Most normal countries have the politicians say the politics bit and then scientists appear separately at a different time to talk about the charts, statistics, etc

Of course the Tories don’t do that as they can try to use the scientists to deflect blame. “No choice! We’re listening to THE SCIENCE. See! Look at this SCIENTIST standing right next to me. We are blameless in all of it. It’s just THE SCIENCE.”.

Piwlyfbicsly · 31/10/2020 19:10

So schools open? Exercise allowed?

middleager · 31/10/2020 19:10

No mention of the borders and travel, surprise, surprise.

TheSandman · 31/10/2020 19:10

What the fuck is a "reasonable worst case scenario?" as just mention by BloJo - Either you have a worst case scenario (This is as bad as we can imaginet') or you have wishful thinking and are fudging and hoping piled in there somewhere. If they've been working on the basis of a 'worst case scenario' that has been wished into being less drastic than it is then no wonder we're all fucked.

middleager · 31/10/2020 19:10
