Leaving the nation hanging around for his words of wisdom is not going to boost his popularity.

Agree with schools staying hoping. But sending love to all teachers out there. Star Wine

PicsInRed · 31/10/2020 19:10

NHS open - but dental services or no dental services?

the80sweregreat · 31/10/2020 19:10

I bet that the scientists wanted more maybe? Schools being open won't make people comply.

BlueStethoscope · 31/10/2020 19:11

open!

Miljea · 31/10/2020 19:11

@Cam77

*Absolutely The way he just summed up those graphs was awful*

Most normal countries have the politicians say the politics bit and then scientists appear separately at a different time to talk about the charts, statistics, etc

Of course the Tories don’t do that as they can try to use the scientists to deflect blame. “No choice! We’re listening to THE SCIENCE. See! Look at this SCIENTIST standing right next to me. We are blameless in all of it. It’s just THE SCIENCE.”.

I thought this, too. With graphs you couldn't read.

BlueStethoscope · 31/10/2020 19:11

What about youth sport, scouts guides, swimming?

stovetopespresso · 31/10/2020 19:11

whoa he's going to have to put this to the vote in Parliament? explains the delay partly at least

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 31/10/2020 19:12

Feel sorry for all those non-essential business that have spent time and money making themselves cold secure for nothing and just having to close again, especially hair and beauty who have been operating at a lower capacity anyway

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 31/10/2020 19:12

That should say covid secure

CovidClara · 31/10/2020 19:12

Our friends in Belgium will be ok- they have the decent chocolate.
We have the crap USA palm oil rubbish as we sold out.

BlueStethoscope · 31/10/2020 19:12

And what about places of worship?

stovetopespresso · 31/10/2020 19:12

stovetopespresso · 31/10/2020 19:12

JamieLeeCurtains · 31/10/2020 19:12

So maybe it was Sir Patrick and Professor Chris who threatened to resign?

Or Johnson and Cummings screamed at them?

The scientists sounded so rattled.

nearlynermal · 31/10/2020 19:12

But the key thing to remember is that: a stitch in time, saves nine.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 31/10/2020 19:13

@stovetopespresso what happens if he doesn’t get enough votes for it?

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 31/10/2020 19:13

Lockdown starts on Thursday and ends on 2nd December.

BlueStethoscope · 31/10/2020 19:13

Mass testing, that's good.

Blue565 · 31/10/2020 19:13

I think Rishi kicked off about extending Furlough

wanderings · 31/10/2020 19:13

Places of worship?
Outdoor organised sport?

monkeypuzzeltree · 31/10/2020 19:13

I see we are dumping hands face space and back to stay at home.

PicsInRed · 31/10/2020 19:13

The army are going to help with mass testing of entire towns - and "immediate" isolation 🤔

Gright · 31/10/2020 19:13

Hopefully the questions will provide some answers to things like places of worship, sports and youth groups, masks in schools etc.

CovidClara · 31/10/2020 19:13

He clearly hasn't had a snip or a stitch
BlueStethoscope · 31/10/2020 19:13

@stovetopespresso what happens if he doesn’t get enough votes for it?
Maybe this is way to 'force' those who are intending to vote against?
