How long did your test results take?

Hi, I started with a sore throat on Monday and a snotty nose (great way to start the half term), but on Wednesday evening I couldn’t taste or smell the dinner. I arranged a test for Thursday morning at 10.30 at a mobile site in the hope that the results would be back in 24-48 hours. My symptoms are improving slightly, sore throat is gone and I can now smell and taste much more but I have developed a cough (not persistent though). Can anyone tell me how long results are currently taking? It was done in Hemel Hempstead.

Hi I ordered a test Friday , I received my test on Saturday . Then arranged for the courier service who picked it up on a Sunday. The next day Monday at 6pm I got a text with my results. I was very lucky it was all quick. I think it depends on the area you are in a bit to. I’m in the south west.

2 weeks ago now- ordered home test Wednesday, arrived Thursday, sent back Thursday and results came through late Friday.

I had a test on Wednesday evening and got results through on Thursday evening.

Mine took about 24 hours. DB and DM in a different part of the country took over 48 hours.

DD was tested Thursday morning - still waiting here. South Wales

Results back in 24 hours - Northern Ireland.

DS tested Thursday afternoon and we are still waiting for results. We are South East

In the last week.. Tested late afternoon.. Results following evening

Thank you everyone, I’ve still no news, hopefully those of us waiting will hear something soon.

Dd was tested on Wednesday afternoon at about 4.30 pm and I got the result Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm.

Yorkshire got results in under 24 hours.

Did one on Monday - still not heard back. It was for the Zoe app and not main symptoms so hoping I’ve just been pushed down the queue otherwise it is a bit worrying that some tests are taking that long.

DS was tested yesterday morning, we’re still waiting for the results. I really hope the results come back by tomorrow so the kids will know whether they’re going to school or not on Monday.

It is really worrying that some results are taking so long, this is exactly why track and trace is not working and the virus has spread.
I’m starting to worry about if my children can return to school on Monday and my partner and myself can go to work. This is so frustrating.

I’m literally checking my phone every 5 mins.

I think this thread sums up why we are in the situation that we are. It’s so ridiculous that it is taking so long.

Tested yesterday at 10.30, result back today 12.30. South east.

Done tue morning. Still waiting. Can I say that done it this way it is disgraceful and pointless?

I was tested in a drive through in Manchester and got my results back after 42 hours. Text and email came through at the same time. Hope you get your results soon.

Totally agree! It’s utterly ridiculous and dangerous.

Tested Friday morning through Zoe app. Nothing yet.

29 hours, tested Sunday, results Monday, drive-thru test in Manchester.
