How long did your test results take?

Hi, I started with a sore throat on Monday and a snotty nose (great way to start the half term), but on Wednesday evening I couldn’t taste or smell the dinner. I arranged a test for Thursday morning at 10.30 at a mobile site in the hope that the results would be back in 24-48 hours. My symptoms are improving slightly, sore throat is gone and I can now smell and taste much more but I have developed a cough (not persistent though). Can anyone tell me how long results are currently taking? It was done in Hemel Hempstead.

Just over 24 hrs and 4 days

Still not heard. So frustrating - We called 119 earlier and they couldn’t help but did comment that sometimes the tests ‘get lost’ 😟

I did enquire on that possibility but nothing was said about it. They told me to wait... indefinitely. The worst case scenario, they said, is you all quarantene for the whole of the 14 days then you go out. Which to me is INSANE for a number of obvious reasons.

Good Morning everyone, Still no results here, I’ve phoned 119 today to chase it up, They have escalated it now but said could take another 3 days and if not then to stay isolated for the 10 days after symptoms. I don’t think I will actually get the results and have given up hope. I will just self isolate until the 10 days are up, in the mean time my children are missing education, I’m leaving my work (special school) short staffed and my partners work struggling. Not to mention the people I had contact with in the week before my symptoms started including the ECV children I work with. Total shambles!

Same over here, no result. My daughter is missing school and I cannot go to work (NHS). What a mess.

DS was tested Saturday afternoon (drive through within an hour of booking). Negative result arrived Sunday early evening. We're in the SE.

@3littlebird5 same here. It’s crazy. Makes me so sad and angry.

Mine was ten days to be told it couldn't be read, I think it got lost. I've had all the covid symptoms and my friend who I was with tested positive a week later. Guess I will never know if it was covid.

Had a test yesterday at the Ricoh in Coventry - negative result received today.

Still waiting :-(

Had a test at a drive through this week Tuesday at noon. I got the results Wednesday morning.

My sons result came back this evening as negative so about 31 hours.

South West nearly 48 hours now, hope they come soon.

13 days later and still waiting.
