Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

OP posts:

@KTD27 thank you, I will get a test tomorrow

GreyishDays · 03/12/2020 19:39

@Drawmelikeoneofyourfrenchgirls

Did anyone have a negative test then lose their smell and taste a few days later? I tested negative at the weekend but the last couple of days I can’t smell or taste a thing. Feel shocking, so tired and back has been aching. Had a couple of headaches and my sinuses are stuffed up but not snotty? Been alternating feeling hot and freezing. So confused as test was negative but seems so similar to a lot of folks covid experiences
I think you should get tested again. Smile

That’s a sympathetic, supportive sort of smile, not a ha ha grin.

Jammygal · 04/12/2020 11:09

I’m feeling really nauseous today (D10) did anyone else find this? I am finding it all scary

starrynight19 · 04/12/2020 19:42

trader21c I have had nausea throughout , day 7 for me. I had 24 hours of actually being sick. Someone upthread suggested anti sickness tablets.

Miseryl · 04/12/2020 20:39

Yes got my positive test at 1am. I have been completely asymptomatic, feel totally fit and well. I get regular tests because I work (but not live) in a specific area. Isolating will be hard for the kids & OH.

QueenPaws · 04/12/2020 20:42

@Drawmelikeoneofyourfrenchgirls I've had two negative tests but there is something else going around
Started with a headache, hot and cold, dry cough and sore throat. Went to a chest cough and sinus pain and now on antibiotics for a chest and sinus infection

Yes I had awful nausea and then eventually vomiting, absolutely horrible

How are you doing? I saw your previous post about getting worse.... that was my experience too, it was really scary. I still feel a bit traumatised if I am honest and I am 5 weeks now since positive test. I am sorry you are going through this too Flowers
CaitrionaAnne · 04/12/2020 20:53

Hope everyone is doing ok! Ive sent my postal test this morning so just need to wait for result. Ive had a headache for past 3 days, generally achy, sore throat, more tired than usual, sensitive eyes and oddly, my jaw/teeth/gums are painful! Its crazy how so many people dont have the 3 symptoms the government talk about!

starrynight19 · 04/12/2020 21:21

PrivateD00r I am suffering now with a bad chest / cough. But have managed a full day out of bed with only one nap on the sofa so I’m taking that as a win. I can honestly say it’s been the worse I have ever felt bar one episode where I ended up in hospital with Quincy. The wheezy chest is a bit unsettling but this thread helps to know it’s not a linear recovery process. It’s hard not to panic though at times. And I’m always one who gets on with illness so this is odd for me but I’m trying to rest and not do anything.
How are you now ?

trader21c · 05/12/2020 08:43

Starry/Private yes will try the tablets. How is everyone feeling? I have more energy today and even managed to eat a small breakfast Private thanks for your kind wishes I hope you are on the mend now 🌸🌺

GreyishDays · 05/12/2020 15:15

Hi everyone, hope you’re all feeling as ok as possible. I am day 20 I think and still completely pathetic.

KTD27 · 05/12/2020 15:25

Ooh man. I have been feeling really good and honestly nearly back to myself. Spend today grabbing some bits for Christmas - perhaps 2 hours total walking around the town centre and I am SHATTERED. Not at all sure how I’m going to manage work on Monday!

stripes416 · 05/12/2020 15:25

Do you get a text message through with a positive result or do they ring you?

GreyishDays · 05/12/2020 15:27

Text and email, then phone call from test and trace a few hours later.
magnarocks · 05/12/2020 16:55

@KTD27 same 🤦‍♀️ was feeling well so went to get the tree with everyone and then went for a walk and now feel like I'll be in bed by 7pm. Can't stop yawning.

starrynight19 · 05/12/2020 17:21

The permanent exhaustion is just so draining. Literally done nothing all day and I am so tired. Still coughing and bad chest so that’s a work out in itself I guess.
I have literally had one phone call from test and trace in the last 8 days. Had so many more when dp had it a few weeks ago and they called me as well as a close contact.

Unicant · 05/12/2020 17:33

I went for a test because I felt really ill and strange. Very dizzy with a slight temperature and just really tired and anxious. He test came back negative so I assumed it was something else.. now a few days later I feel pretty much fine but with a very slight cough.
Well my husband has to test twice a week for work and yesterday evening he tested and was positive. I went and got tested again too because of my cough and it was positive.
I'm worried now that I had it a few days ago as well and the test was wrong and I've been carrying on as normal.. I went to the supermarket and B&Q and the post office! Obviously I wore a mask. But I hope I haven't given it to anyone.
Its odd the when I felt ill I was negative but now I feel fine im positive.
My husband thought he had a mild cold but no covid symptoms... his temp was fine and he has no cough. But apparently we both have it.
Ima bit afraid. I hope it doesnt get worse.

stripes416 · 05/12/2020 17:54

@Unicant don't worry there's nothing more you could have done. You had a test and it was negative and you carried on as normal like you can so don't worry. Have you been told to isolate since the day of your first symptom last week or from your positive test?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 05/12/2020 18:04

I mostly have rage today. If I had the energy I could have a huge foot stamping tantrum. DH thought he was getting better but then went out for the first time and came back exhausted: he'd been to two shops. The house is a mess, I am either on the sofa or in bed and I am so fucking frustrated with it all.

Track and Trace have rung me every sodding day as well. And I know work will be wanting me back but I just can't entertain the idea at the minute.

Arses.

Unicant · 05/12/2020 18:18

@stripes416 from the positive test

Unicant · 05/12/2020 18:19

@YoureAllABunchOfBastards why do track and trace ring you?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 05/12/2020 18:37
@YoureAllABunchOfBastards why do track and trace ring you?
To tell me to stay in and to ask if I am OK. They have been doing my head in - you can tell they are going through a script and if you ask them a question they have no idea. I think I have had double calls as DH tested positive two days before me.
