Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

@YoureAllABunchOfBastards how long has it been since his symptoms started? I don’t think it’s unusual but keep an eye obviously. Paracetamol and I think ibuprofen is ok now.
My antibiotics have kicked in and it’s like night and day. I absolutely recommend calling the doc if anyone has a cough which comes back or sticks around. My GP said guidance had changed recently and prescribed them for me even though I didn’t think it would make a blind bit of difference. I had no temp or anything but my cough was a bit productive. It’s almost disappeared overnight. I feel so much better. Finally.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 01/12/2020 20:23

Thanks. It is 7 days as he didn't really have symptoms. He has warmed up - I am bloody roasting here and having a perimenopausal hot flush...

FancyAnOlive · 01/12/2020 21:02

I'm on day 7 and I've got horrible sinus and ear pain. I've also lost my sense of taste and smell and getting off the sofa is a massive task.

KriKay · 01/12/2020 21:43

Just over 2 weeks since positive test. Feel much better. Back at work, in a nursery, it’s busy and I’m exhausted! Apart from the tiredness and a bit of a cough I seem to be doing ok!

Hope everyone feeling better soon.

trader21c · 02/12/2020 02:29

Day 8 for me still feeling like sh**t and exhausted if I try to do anything more than sitting in bed or on the sofa. Other symptoms are a cough and loss of taste/smell. I am also sneezing. I am on the work rota for next Weds am thinking I may well need more time. Did anyone else find this? Wondering what to do ... quite stressing me out! I’d thought by now I would feel a bit better.

Hi, I'm day 14 today. Definitely turned a corner yesterday. Felt much more like me again. I did have a bad headache in the eve, but temp back down to my normal 35.6. whoop! I can't sleep very well, I go to bed and my eyes are hurting from being tired, but I wake about an hour or so later and ping, wide awake. Last day at home with everyone today. I don't work Thurs, so back to work on Friday, worried about how tired I'm going to be, I work in a school, so I will be going from 0 to 60. At least I'll have the weekend to rest.

GreyishDays · 02/12/2020 11:08

Day 18 for me and not very much better. Still completely physically exhausted. I am now starting to worried this will take months.

I’d thought it was about two weeks if you have it mildly.

Gottheteeshirtandlostit · 02/12/2020 11:09

Morning. DS (18) just tested positive this morning. He lives at home so now we're all on the lookout for symptoms. He seems ok for now - tired, mild loss of taste and smell, some aches and pains, and a bit of a pain in the back of his chest. He's not had a cough yet at all, and only had a temperature for five minutes. I've had a sore throat the last couple of days so have ordered a home test. Going to read back through this thread now.

Bonkerz · 02/12/2020 12:11

I'm struggling to find the right balance to be honest. Day 21 here and finishing work at 3 and sleeping 4-7:30 on sofa. Monday I didn't take meds and had horrid headache and flush by 3. Tuesday I took meds and had sickness and felt drowsy from 2!

IHeartKingThistle · 02/12/2020 12:33

@IamHyouweegobshite I'm back teaching on Friday too and bricking it!

Was supposed to go back yesterday so have already extended once.

justmewithmylifetoday · 02/12/2020 15:55

Handhold please..

I'm on day 7 (approximately) of covid no cough as yet but feel so tight chested today and as the day has progressed.. wheezy. A bit like the feeling when you've been running and then breathe or when you breathe in cold air outside.

No fever. Finger pulse oximeter sats are fine. Is it possible this will subside.. or is the worst still to come? Sad

IamHyouweegobshite · 02/12/2020 16:15

Today has taken a turn of events, not for the good. I had a bad asthma attack and the pain under my right shoulder blade, which has been there all the time, has got a lot worse. I spoke to the doctor, I have pleurisy and have been given another dose of antibiotics and steroids. They've signed me for another week at least.

magnarocks · 02/12/2020 18:03

@justmewithmylifetoday & @IamHyouweegobshite CakeThanks Hope you both feel better ASAP. Good thing you went to the Dr though Iam, hopefully things will clear quicker now.

I'm on day 14 since symptoms began and day 12 since positive test. I'm definitely getting there and hope to go back to work next week. I've felt a little short of breath on exertion over the past few days but spoke to GP this am who reassured me and sorted me a sick note.

The fatigue is improving slowly but surely.

ValleysGirl72 · 03/12/2020 00:08

My isolation ended on Thursday 26th, went back to work Monday 30th. Still have a bit of a cough but I also suffer with acid reflux.

Tuesday 1st, the girls in work wanted to send me home because I was quite breathless, I'd only walked about half a mile, maybe not even that far.

It's the cough and tiredness that's getting me down now. I just want my body to get back to normal!!!

IHeartKingThistle · 03/12/2020 08:48

Day 20 and psyching myself up for work tomorrow. Anyone else ravenous ALL THE TIME???

starrynight19 · 03/12/2020 09:50

Just coming on here as feeling worse with each passing day.
So I started with a sore throat and a bunged up nose on Friday night. Saturday I woke up with terrible headache and ear ache / neck ache. Went for a test.
Slept pretty much all weekend absolutely full of a cold.
Positive result Monday. Upset stomach and nausea up to yesterday. Also a cough. The weirdest thing has been pins and needles type pain in my face.
Feeling tight chested and wheezy today and awful headache and nausea. Sleeping terribly at night but caching up through the day. I also am getting pain around my back this morning. Will catch up with this thread but just checking that it’s normal to feel worse.

IHeartKingThistle · 03/12/2020 12:52

It was like that for me @starrynight19 so try not to worry. You will turn a corner at some point but the bloody virus has to do its thing.

I got anti-nausea meds from GP and a friend picked them up for me. They did help.

trader21c · 03/12/2020 13:13

How are you Valleys now? I felt a bit better this morning (last day of isolation) but am still spending most of it in bed. Heartking thanks for your words - I am hoping I turn a corner soon doesn’t help that I have absolutely no appetite .... I’ve found this virus very scary and feel vulnerable which I don’t think I have felt like this before. I have no energy even to do internet shopping

Buggerl thanks for the update hope you continue to feel better

starrynight19 · 03/12/2020 14:48

Thanks IHeartKingThistle that’s enormously reassuring.

littlemissgrinchy · 03/12/2020 18:03

@starrynight19 the nausea and back ache hit me hard to. It does get better but you really need to just rest as much as you can. I'm on week 3 now and definitely turned a corner over last weekend. I feel for you, it's a real nasty virus.

Drawmelikeoneofyourfrenchgirls · 03/12/2020 18:16

Did anyone have a negative test then lose their smell and taste a few days later? I tested negative at the weekend but the last couple of days I can’t smell or taste a thing. Feel shocking, so tired and back has been aching. Had a couple of headaches and my sinuses are stuffed up but not snotty? Been alternating feeling hot and freezing. So confused as test was negative but seems so similar to a lot of folks covid experiences

KTD27 · 03/12/2020 18:17

@Drawmelikeoneofyourfrenchgirls I tested negative on the Saturday with symptoms. Tested positive on the following Friday. I’d test again if I were you
