Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

I take a multi B vitamin with omega 3 for menopause, I'm still going with that. Might have to source some vit D for both of us.

My stomach still isn't quite right - haven't had a solid poo for 3 weeks - but it seemed very slightly better yesterday!

IHeartKingThistle · 26/11/2020 18:30

Last day of my isolation - I have come downstairs! The world is opening up!

Still feel a bit weak and scared of overdoing it and triggering a relapse Shock

FancyAnOlive · 26/11/2020 20:08

Dd (13) has just tested positive and I am presuming her sister and I both are as well as we all have the same symptoms. I only started feeling ill yesterday and I'm feeling overwhelmed and quite scared. It's just me and the kids. So far I only have a headache, scratchy throat and cough and my back aches.

ProtectedPeas · 26/11/2020 20:39

DD tested positive - she was very tired and feeling whoozy. No cough, temp or loss of smell. I feel rough as hell, at times, waves of nausea and headache - track and trace told me to get tested - I await the results.

sandycloud · 26/11/2020 21:24

My friend who is a doctor has just suggested gargling with dissolvable aspirin. I just have and feel loads better.

Bonkerz · 26/11/2020 22:00

I'm still sleeping on sofa.
Managed a bath today which was needed. I feel better in the morning and trying to stop taking so many pain killers as back at work Monday but clearly overdid it today and was incapacitated from 3-9 on sofa with horrid headache and sickness.
Nurse friend has told me off and said pain killers are essential for recovery and to not worry unless I get to a month from now and am still taking 4 full doses a day!
Maybe I'm being to ambitious!

Thank you TheBuggerlugs.

GreyishDays · 27/11/2020 12:57

Hi everyone, hope you’re all feeling not too awful.
I’m day 12 now and still quite jelly-like and pathetic.

KTD27 · 27/11/2020 14:56

Checking in. Day 12? I don’t know anymore. Have taken some walks outside but am whacked. Nauseous when I eat and can’t taste anything any way so pointless. DH was lots better but today had to call me out of my sick bed to look after DD as he was feeling shit. Had a sleep and felt better and then told me he’d been scared about his breathing. It’s so so so crap not following a trajectory you can rely on. One step forwards seven backwards at the moment. I hate it so so much.

FancyAnOlive · 27/11/2020 16:43

We've all 3 tested positive now. Eek. Only on day 3 here and feeling not too bad but know this may well change for the worse.

justmewithmylifetoday · 28/11/2020 10:05

I’ve tested positive today. Cold like symptoms.. now progressing to less taste. Dh tested when I did but is negative. He feels groggy and thinks he’s going same way.

I’m the meantime, he’s working from home during the week. I’m oookijg after 3yo dd. Small 2 bed house, garden out of action. How can we distance? Is it realistic to do this? Should I/he sleep on sofa?

justmewithmylifetoday · 28/11/2020 10:05

Really should have checked for typos first!

IHeartKingThistle · 28/11/2020 10:15

Day 15. I'm OK. It gets better. But having to take things very very easy. Take care everybody x

KTD27 · 28/11/2020 10:22

@justmewithmylifetoday I don’t know if there’s much point honestly. The test and trace doctor who rang us when my son tested positive said just to work on the assumption that we all had it because despite our negative tests at the time it was likely incorrect. He was right. We were all positive sooner or later.

PrivateD00r · 28/11/2020 10:32

Hoping to offer some reassurance. I am 4 weeks in and the horrible leg pain is normal. As is the exhaustion, GI upset, anxiety, etc.

It does get better! I am not fully recovered yet but am up and about and feeling so much better! Able to go out for walks and have even been shopping. Not back at work yet though Sad

I was pretty much bed bound and had high temps for about 17 days and honestly thought I was never going to get better Blush so hoping to offer some reassurance to you all.

I remember reading some of the lungs threads ages ago and sensing the distress and anxiety. I thought that will never be me, I am an HCP, I don't have anxiety, I know the signs of deterioration and when to seek medical help. But guess what - I was every bit as anxious and distressed as those posters were. It is a horrible, scary, lonely experience. Knowing you can't pop to the GP for a look over is terrifying. I resisted going to A&E because of the stay at home message - I was petrified of putting anyone at risk.

Stupid stupid stupid!

Anyway, take care everyone Flowers

Bonkerz · 28/11/2020 11:22

17 days post positive test day and despite being in hospital last weekend I'm finally feeling like I can recover.
Went to shop last night (essentials needed) and have had my first coffee today since 15/11!!
Queasiness still there and head feels fragile but today I feel I can function again.

PrivateD00r · 28/11/2020 11:26

Great news Flowers

Whiskyinajar · 28/11/2020 11:33

Tested positve after a test on Monday ....weirdly I feelmokay apart from the loss of taste. I'm hoping for it's going to stay that way.

DS tested positive last week so I know where I got it from.

Am exhausted by evenings but that's all.

@TheBuggerlugs

Thanks for the reassurance private and bonkerz it's good to know that this feeling of being totally wiped out is normal and that it doesn't eventually lift.

Have you had any battles getting a sick note for work? I can't see me being able to work from Monday and cannot face the dr receptionist gatekeepers.

The receptionists in my practice were so kind and empathetic that I plan on leaving in a wee gift at Christmas for the first time ever. No problems at all and my work have been lovely but I still have a really bad cough so no one wants me back yet anyway!

Day 10, woke up with horrible pain going across my back, just below bra strap area. I have one more antibiotics left. So called 111, an ambulance was sent out, had lots of obs as I have underlying heart problems, I'm ok, and thankfully not going in to hosp. They feel the back and chest pain is where I've hurt myself from coughing and shallow breathing so much. My temp is up again. This is rubbish.

magnarocks · 28/11/2020 12:14

Feeling teary again today. I'm so silly. I'm fed up of having no taste and smell (it's gone again) and feeling worn out. It's only been a week of feeling poorly really, it just feels longer.

Hope you're all doing better and thanks for the reassurance @Bonkerz. Thanks
