Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

Still fuzzy here day 11. Can't imagine going back to teach classes yet. The digestive stuff is awful, sorry you've got it too.

Covidwoes · 24/11/2020 15:17

Day 11 here and feeling more exhausted than ever. Husband working from home so I have the 2 year old all day. She's had far too much sugar and screen time today as I just don't have the energy. I think having a toddler and being pregnant is just making it impossible to rest properly.

Day 7 here. Coughing a bit and waiting for test results for OH and 3yo but my taste is definitely returning which makes me feel v reassured.

Hope you're all beginning to improve too.

KTD27 · 25/11/2020 10:32

Morning all. I was full of energy yesterday and felt great. Today it’s a different story and am pretty wiped out. Mostly I’d say I’m better though. My cough is still hanging around but so much less chest pressure over the last 24-36 hours
Absolutely no sense of taste or smell which is really depressing me. How long did it take for others to get theirs back?

No sign of mine after 4 weeks, it is the weirdest thing! Sometimes I add a little salt thinking the food is just plain (duh!) but then occasionally I just taste the salt and its like I have piled tons on when its just a sprinkle. Weird!

The smell thing mostly feels an advantage, like when cleaning up dog poo on walks Grin

PrivateD00r · 25/11/2020 10:45

I hope everyone is improving Flowers

Hi everyone, my DH and DC have all come back negative. I'm so pleased. I couldn't sleep last night, literally stayed up till 4.30 watching the crown and even after that I wasn't tired. Woke up today feeling a bit more with it, chest still hurting but I did deep breathing exercises last night, I think they really helped.
My neighbour was having a bonfire this morning, setting me off on a coughing fit. I've come back to bed, trying to do some uni work, need to use this time off work to my advantage.

Bonkerz · 25/11/2020 11:55

Day I've totally forgotten here.
Anti biotics all finished and I'm trying to limit pain killers today as I have to go back to work Monday.
Took a short walk outside today and sats dropped to 80% but came back up quite quick once I sat down.
Feeling a little more with it just short of breath really here.

magnarocks · 25/11/2020 13:39

I've jinxed myself with my morning optimism. Been sick and now got really sore burning sensation in my legs. Anyone else had this sort of leg pain? Never experienced anything like it! ☹️

KTD27 · 25/11/2020 14:39

@magnarocks that sounds horrid. Hope it’s passed now. I’ve had very bad muscle cramps but no sickness thank god. Did your OH and child get their results back?
@Covidwoes how are you feeling? I cannot imagine being pregnant with this at the moment. You’re a warrior.

MrsWarleggan · 25/11/2020 14:57

Day 12 for me. Still feel a little groggy and my back and neck are really painful, although I think that's from sitting and lying around. My chest still feels quite tight but no cough to speak of, just constantly need to clear my throat. Starting talking Vit D yesterday.

IHeartKingThistle · 25/11/2020 15:14

Day 12. Exhausted. Slept till 11 and had to have another hour's sleep less than 3 hours later! Like a baby!

Still getting nauseous every evening, keep hoping today will be the day it doesn't happen Confused

IHeartKingThistle · 25/11/2020 15:15

@magnarocks sickness is horrid. Can you get GP to prescribe meds for that?

Covidwoes · 25/11/2020 18:07

@KTD27 I'm mainly just exhausted. I have a 2 year old at home too, and while she's been really good overall, it's not easy juggling her, Covid and being 33 weeks pregnant! DH also tested positive but is much better, but he has to WFH so can't be around all the time. I haven't had a proper, all day rest since I started feeling ill, so that's why it's taking longer to recover I think. Still no sense of taste or smell, and my stomach is still dodgy on and off!

HoldingForGeneralHugs · 25/11/2020 21:12

Hi i was wondering if i could join?

So after nearly a week of a weird sour taste in my mouth (put it down to my implants/ something wrong with my mouth) i was complaining to my dad tonight and he said i should do a test. I thought it was loss of taste not change of taste.

I had a home test from a month or so back when son had a high temp and i ordered a home one (we dont drive) by the time it came he was fine so i never did it, so im going to do it tomorrow and post.

I have one side pain where my kidney is, but i put it down to my back seizing up i hurt it during the last lockdown so thought it was that.

This morning i woke up a little achey and a sore throat and conjunctivitis (a lovely gift from my toddler) But no cough or temp or sinus issues.

I feel a bit stupid as i work in the nhs so should know what to look out for but i just didnt connect the dots.

Sorry for the long post just worried and im asthmatic so worried about that too

magnarocks · 26/11/2020 08:14

@KTD27 strangely OH has tested positive and 3yo is negative, not entirely sure how but...

I'm on day 9, not been too ill with it but I just feel strange. Last night and today i feel like I'm on a boat at sea. My head feels funny and heavy and it's making me feel nauseous!

Restless legs are back too.

IamHyouweegobshite · 26/11/2020 10:55

Morning, day 8. Headache back with a vengence. Very tired, legs would not stop aching, I'm finding I'm hungry at night too. I can do shallow breathing and it's ok, a deep breathe and I have a coughing fit. Everyone is now getting cabin fever and narky with each other. My dd who has asd is finding it difficult to not be around me.
Last night I had an odd burning sensation in my lungs.

littlemissgrinchy · 26/11/2020 11:02

Day 11, I feel like I'm on a boat pissed.. very floaty like! Still no smell / taste, I'm sleeping in past 10 which I have never done ever!! Starting to get concerned about long term affects. Also eagerly awaiting the 11.30 news notification on tier 1/2/3 as I think we are a 3 and it's showing no signs of slowing here..

Covidwoes · 26/11/2020 13:53

@magnarocks We tested 2 year old DD as she had a temperature for a day, but it came back negative! DH and I have been been positive. Weird!

BillyDaveysDaughter · 26/11/2020 16:58

Day 18, I'm OK but feel like a wrung out dishcloth - head feels like it's underwater, I can barely speak clearly and I'm muzzy and puffy-eyed.

But smell and taste is drifting back, albeit faintly. DH feels similarly drained.

We are thankfully not feeling ill, just exhausted.

KTD27 · 26/11/2020 17:07

The exhaustion is here too. I’m a million times better than yesterday but still whacked. My cough is back and extremely annoying. I smelt vinegar earlier and sort of ‘tasted’ bbq sauce which has to be a good sign I think?!
