Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

That's interesting and the GP said similar. My ears are totally blocked. I need to be braver!

Hi guys, for those struggling with a cough. My boss had covid in April and he suggested huffing. It's a physiotherapy technique to help clear the chest without too much coughing. I'll definitely be trying it! What do I have to lose?!

KTD27 · 24/11/2020 07:44

Morning all. Day.. 11? Here. Mostly I’m the same, no taste, full of snot in my sinuses. Hyper aware of my chest. I am finding the mental battle really hard. I am very nervous of something turning serious and feel like I’m on tenterhooks waiting. Generally I feel like I’ve got a really bad cold, there no pain or fever just snot. But man I am anxious.
Tried a bit of huffing this morning @ValleysGirl72 not sure if I did it right but it felt... productive?

Hope the rest of you are ok.

magnarocks · 24/11/2020 08:16

Day 6 here. OH appears to have got it too now as coughing lots and has bad headache.

I've got a sore stomach and feel a bit nauseous, otherwise much the same. I don't feel horrific; just generally not v well. And I'm struggling a bit with having an illness that doesn't have a clear beginning and end, e.g.

magnarocks · 24/11/2020 08:16

Meant to say e.g. a common cold or a typical D&V bug

IamHyouweegobshite · 24/11/2020 09:06

Morning, can I ask when do you start counting the days from? Is it when you got a positive? For context I got a positive sun 22, I took my test Friday 20th, headache and slight temp Thurs 19th. I had been feeling crappy most of the week with a bad chest, cough and asthma. I'm just not sure what day I'm on. Thanks

Bonkerz · 24/11/2020 09:08

My household is free from today. Eldest goes back to work and that technically means we are now covid free.

I've ordered some disinfectant bombs to do the house and am washing bedding today too with fabulosa.

BillyDaveysDaughter · 24/11/2020 09:14

I'm now at day 16, pretty much recovered. Fever broke on day 11, that's when I turned a corner.

I'm weak and wobbly, I still have a slight cough and terrible pain between my shoulder blades today, and I get tired easily - but I'm working from home again (taking it easy) and haven't touched a paracetamol since Saturday.

It's taking ages for my stomach to settle though, I still have the raging shits. I've lost 13lbs in total since 13th November.

KTD27 · 24/11/2020 09:24

@bonkerz and how are you feeling? Don’t do too much after being in hospital so recently! (Also which disinfectant bombs!?)
@BillyDaveysDaughter so glad to hear you’re ok. Take it easy aswell!

haggistramp · 24/11/2020 09:37

I had a test yesterday, fully expecting it to come back positive. I'm glad to read someone else has restless legs. I've had it terrible the last few nights and even when I'm just sitting on an armchair. Pillow between the legs isn't really helping neither. Have had a stonking headache since Friday and afternoon fatigue and achey hips the last few days too. No coughing tho. But think I'm getting a fever as I speak. Wfh atm but if it gets any worse debating about calling in sick.

LavenderBee · 24/11/2020 09:41

Interesting re anxious feeling... I’d noticed that too and wondered if it was because breath isn’t as good. Day 10.... coughing to point of vomiting, leg pains, headache, tearful, nauseous. I went to a COvid hub yesterday and got oxygen and chest checked. The lovely doctor there told me that her colleague - another doctor who is really resilient- has COvid and said it’s the worst illness she’s ever had. I can second that.
@IamHyouweegobshite I think people generally count day 1 as the day they began having symptoms

Bonkerz, I think I may get some, are you able to stay in house whilst it's done and we have pets too. By the way, just for your safety, you need to crop your photo, you've got your name and postcode. Too many weirdos about. X

Bonkerz · 24/11/2020 10:42

God been on here over 12 years and just made a stupid mistake.

MrsWarleggan · 24/11/2020 10:50

FREEDOOOOM!!! 11th day!

10 days from symptoms starting and I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! What a feeling!!

Still a little tight chested later in evening but got my taste back already!!!

Keep going strong guys ❤️❤️

KriKay · 24/11/2020 10:55

@MrsWarleggan me too! Day 11. I’m feeling better, but like you still a bit tight chest, but much better. I’m going to see how I get on going for a walk with dog later!
Hope everyone not feeling so good feels much better soon. It’s such a strange and worrying journey.

amyj606 · 24/11/2020 11:05

Hi I wanted to join in the chat about testing positive...I had my positive test result almost a month ago. I've still got really achey joints, my lungs don't feel clear (bubbling) and my breathing still isn't fully back. I've got an appointment with an asthma nurse next week but I worry that this might never clear properly. I've tried applying for the self isolation payment and I've been refused i just feel really fed up!

KTD27 · 24/11/2020 12:39

Oh @amyj606 I’m sorry. How come it was refused?! Not what you need I’m sure.
Currently debating what on Earth you eat for lunch when you don’t taste a goddam thing. So annoying

WhyNotMeThough · 24/11/2020 12:43

I've just tested positive. Extremely breathless, I'm actually very surprised at how ill I feel. In bed, absolutely floored.

magnarocks · 24/11/2020 12:53

@WhyNotMeThough hope you feel better soon. Thanks

amyj606 · 24/11/2020 13:03

Hi, the person I spoke to was adamant that I wasn't entitled because I wasn't in receipt of benefits. I tried to explain about the discretionary payment for loss of earnings. I'd sent the info over, they said it hadn't sent but made no attempt to contact me. I've got an email contact so going to send a detailed email over. I'm just really fed up wondering when it will end. Id been so careful and had only been to and from work (a school) before I got it. Oh my taste changed it was really metallic but I went after about a week I think its all such a blur and all kinda melts into one.

IHeartKingThistle · 24/11/2020 13:38

Hi @amyj60, as if Covid wasn't enough to deal with!

amyj606 · 24/11/2020 13:53

I know all I did was go to work! I'm going to see how I get on once I've emailed them. I've not gone back to work as yet as I want to get this weird ruttle on my lungs sorted

littlemissgrinchy · 24/11/2020 13:55

Well.. I 'thought' I was through the worst of it.. tried to eat lunch with the kids today.. definitely still unable to keep food down. Very worrying and the fuzzy head remains. I'm on day 9 i think 🤔
