Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

Dh and ds1 didn't catch it off me. Dh was sleeping in the same bed before I tested positive. As soon as I lost my sense of smell we kept apart.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/11/2020 15:25

I've had restless legs as well, as bad as in late stage pregnancy. Last night I had to keep getting up and walking about while watching telly. These things all smack of 'neurological' rather than the respiratory things we're told to watch out for.

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 15:31

For those saying their family members are negative, they shouldn't be tested without symptoms. It is pointless testing otherwise because they could be negative today but positive tomorrow! However DH insisted on still sleeping in our bed and he didn't get any symptoms at all, my positive was 3 weeks ago now! The dc had mild sore throats and nausea so weren't testing but I hope that it was a mild case of cv rather than some other random illness, as I really hope we have it over and done with for a while.

That said, one of my dc only was back at school a couple of days and is off again due to a positive in their class!

Is that better or worse?
GreyishDays · 21/11/2020 15:33

@thenewaveragebear1983

No that's the same graph. For Anyone who starts symptoms within the 14 days it's fine. Eg. If family member gets symptoms on day 13, they'd do ten days etc, the rest of the family could finish their isolation on day 14. But once the original person's 14 day 'window' is finished any new symptoms that start after that count as a 'new case' and you'd have to go through the whole process of testing/isolating again.
Sorry I misread. Yes. Obviously if you come out of isolation then you have to go back in again if you are a contact or have symptoms.

We’ve not heard from T&T yet. I feel awful as work in a small primary school, I didn’t go in Thursday pm & Friday (only because I don’t work Thurs afternoons & thought as we’re getting tests I shouldn’t go in-but genuinely hand on heart didn’t think we had it as no symptoms!!) so I’m waiting to hear if I’ve single handed closed the school😳

Don't you be feeling a bit bad, not in the slightest your fault. And maybe you caught it there yourself!

I was in work on the same day I ended up unwell and testing positive, yes I felt awful, but really how was I to know? Thankfully we wear masks even in our office so no one had to isolate, I /had full PPE on with my patients. Obviously you don't get that luxury in school!

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 15:40

Oh and I meant to add, I am still waiting on t&t............. 3 weeks after my test hahaha! I just notified work myself as soon as I got my result. Thankfully it was the end of half term so my dc hadn't been in school. I was so happy about that!

MrsWarleggan · 21/11/2020 15:48

I still haven't heard from T&T. Half the people I have been in close contact with haven't been pinged by the app despite having contact tracing on. Farce.

I think wanting to know if they’ve had it is a reason to want to test? Not going into the moral ins and outs of ambiguous symptoms. That would be the point for us. And if you get a positive early on you could shorten their insulation period.
GreyishDays · 21/11/2020 15:56

Sorry, of testing with ambiguous symptoms.

I am a bit fuzzy.

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 16:48

I can feel the pressure in my chest again. Stupid virus. God I hate this

wildbarnet · 21/11/2020 17:10

Feeling really poorly sore throat , headache and done a test ... this is third time felt like this and all negative so see what happens

MrsWarleggan · 21/11/2020 17:15

@KTD27

How many days in are you?

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 17:18

@MrsWarleggan day 8 I think.

MrsWarleggan · 21/11/2020 17:36

Same as. Woke up feeling pretty good....have gone down hill again though with chest tightness.

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 17:37

It’s reassuring to know I’m not alone! That’s the worst bit for me is not being sure when I can say I’m out of the woods. Wish you better tomorrow

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 17:44

Greyish, the trouble there is, you still may not know. How many times would you keep repeating the tests to find out? Bearing in mind, you could well be taking tests away from others who need them and costing the NHS money unnecessarily? Just my opinion and only replying as you asked, this isn't the thread for this discussion really as we are all unwell Flowers

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 17:46
@MrsWarleggan day 8 I think.
Days 8-10 were the worst for me and some reading after told me this is totally normal. It is so scary to deteriorate at that point, so I just want you to know you are not alone. I got antibiotics on D11 for pneumonia and they seemed to really help, just something to think about Flowers

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 17:56

@PrivateD00r thank you I’m glad to know that ahead of time - why did you ring for antibiotics? Just trying to work out how to make the call if I need to.

H1978 · 21/11/2020 17:58

I find the chest pains get worse towards the evening, as does the cough.
KTD27 · 21/11/2020 18:08

@H1978 yes to it worsening through the evening. My cough is almost gone which I’m thankful for so there’s definite improvement but I can feel the chest coming on in the late afternoon.

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 18:10
@PrivateD00r thank you I’m glad to know that ahead of time - why did you ring for antibiotics? Just trying to work out how to make the call if I need to.
So on the morning of D8 I felt a lot better and actually got out of bed for a few hours. But that evening my temp shot up to 39 and stayed there despite paracetamol. I have a little oximeter and my sats were consistently 93 at rest, I actually packed a bag at that point in case I had to go to hospital. I figured it had turned to pneumonia. I stupidly waited another few days because I didn't want to put any HCP at risk by attending until I was day 11 (stupid, don't do that!) but those few days were horrendous. I rang the GP on D11 and she could hear how bad my breathing and the cough was, she diagnosed bacterial pneumonia and prescribed amoxicillin. I slowly recovered from the day after.

A few of my colleagues got steroids, but my GP didn't suggest that.

I hope you feel better soon Flowers I am honestly not giving medical advice, just trying to let you know my experience Flowers

LavenderBee · 21/11/2020 18:24

Thank you for the info graphics....
I’m on day 7 and cough has got much worse, retching with it, feel like a lot of fluid there. DS2 has symptoms now...😢hope it’s a mild case

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 18:26

Thinking of you Lavendar, take care Flowers
