Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

Bonkerz, I cannot remember if I said before, but I needed antibiotics at that stage for bacterial pneumonia, that is why my temp was still spiking. Might be worth contacting your GP? My temp didn't normalise until day 16 or so
@H1978

It's testing your BOLT score. Take a deep breath in. Aiming for 40 seconds before you need to take another breath. Most people manage up to 20 if you can do over 10 your o2 levels are OK.

It's a very rough test, but might put your mind at rest x
Thank you I’ll give it a try 👍🏼 Hope you feel better soon.

LavenderBee · 21/11/2020 05:52

@notroundthebend how is your nose now?! I had that fizzy feeling... drove me bonkers, like a chlorine burn from going under water in pool. Since then I have had zilch smell or taste. So odd.
Can anyone confirm timelines? I got COvid first, doing 10 days isolation. DH got it 2 days after so he’s straggling just after me with his 10 days 😂..DS 2 now has The Cough so will get a test and his SI would then start on 10 days with a positive result?...but DS 1, so far symptom free, can still end his 14 days isolation from the day that my symptoms started? He doesn’t have to reset his dates as DS2 now has symptoms?
Soooo confusing.
Track and trace don’t know. My parents both have COvid ( I got it from dad, taking him to a -now delayed- cancer screening😢) ... as my dad tested positive first he has been getting T and T calls telling him to now self isolate for 14 as mum tested positive more recently. When he argues that they either hang up (he’s calmly stating case!) or just say don’t know. He needs to be able to go out to restart his cancer procedures.
Any info or resources welcome. Sorry so long.

magnarocks · 21/11/2020 06:49

Don't know the answer @LavenderBee, sorry, hope someone else will be along soon.

I'm on day 3, didn't have a v good sleep last night, woke up hot and sweaty a few times but don't think I had a temperature. This morning I've woken up with really painful period pain, my period is due (TMI) but the pain is way worse than usual. Going to take some painkillers and see how I feel in a bit. Hopefully should get test result back today or tomorrow... I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that it must be COVID due to such significant and quick loss of taste and smell.

Hope you all had good sleeps.

@LavenderBee this infographic is very useful

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 07:44

@LavenderBee yes yes to the info graphic we were due to come out of isolation on Wednesday after DS tested positive +14 days and t&t confirmed that was still the case even though myself and DH have tested positive. Our symptoms starting + ten days still take us to weds and the children don’t have the clock started on them again which is good as they’re going barmy.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/11/2020 07:49

For anyone testing positive also, as soon as your household 14 days is up, if anyone gets any new symptoms, you have to start the whole process of isolation/14 days again.

justleavemebe · 21/11/2020 08:41

So my results came back this morning I'm positive but my 4 daughters are negative? My symptoms of nausea and a headache started last Sunday and only because of this thread I tested because I wouldn't of associated those symptoms with covid Confused

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 10:15

How are you feeling @justleavemebe?

MrsWarleggan · 21/11/2020 10:16

My DH and DDs test on weds came back negative this morning after I tested positive on Tues. My symptoms started last Saturday. I'm absolutely flummoxed. 4 of us, living in a rabbit hutch with only one loo. Holed up together since Tuesday and I'm the only one suffering. We haven't exactly been disinfecting everything either. Such a weird virus 🙄

MrsWarleggan · 21/11/2020 10:17

Ooh and got my oximeter today. Would highly recommend if anyone has covid anxiety like me!!

magnarocks · 21/11/2020 10:20

What have your symptoms been like @MrsWarleggan? How are you feeling @KTD27? Thanks

justleavemebe · 21/11/2020 10:23

@KTD27 my heads banging and feels fuzzy and sinuses hurt but apart from that I'm ok. No cough or temp.

I agree it's such a strange virus.

MrsWarleggan · 21/11/2020 10:37

@magnarocks

From last Saturday morning it has felt like I've had a constant hangover. Heady, dizzy, sinus pressure. Exhausted. Then as of Tuesday my chest has been really tight and a constant need to clear my throat. I'm a smoker so my anxiety has been through the roof!!! Ive had no proper cough, temperature or loss of taste/smell. I'm feeling better today, but not jinxing it as I know I will probably feel shit again tomorrow!…

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 11:30

@magnarocks I’m tentatively feeling better. Maybe? It’s so hard to know. I woke up this morning and id had a good sleep which felt great. My cough is definitely lessened, no tightness in the chest to speak of (but I’m watching that closely) still not had a temp. I’m absolutely wiped out though. And my eyeballs are killing. Every time I move them - it’s horrid. We are on day 7/8 so I’m
Wary as I know things can improve and then get shit again. It’s so weird DH has pins and needles everywhere.

littlemissgrinchy · 21/11/2020 11:36

I've had a shower, washed my hair and put some clothes on! This is a huge step forward for me.. what a week I've had with this virus!!

IHeartKingThistle · 21/11/2020 12:23

Aaaand I'm throwing up again. FFS.

So many people not passing it on to their families - I'm hoping I don't either!

magnarocks · 21/11/2020 13:06

Positive result confirmed. Hoping OH and 3yo don't get it.

No according to this. Scroll down for the image which explains.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/11/2020 13:59

No that's the same graph. For Anyone who starts symptoms within the 14 days it's fine. Eg. If family member gets symptoms on day 13, they'd do ten days etc, the rest of the family could finish their isolation on day 14. But once the original person's 14 day 'window' is finished any new symptoms that start after that count as a 'new case' and you'd have to go through the whole process of testing/isolating again.

Thisisme0044 · 21/11/2020 14:32

Well husband and I tested positive today (tested yesterday). Only tested because husband had a head cold last weekend & real fatigue on Wednesday & Thursday. His boss had similar thing week before but tested -ve! I then started to feel like I was getting a cold on Sunday eve but stayed as a stuffy head type. Neither of us have/had a fever/cough or loss of taste/smell! Actually had to lie to get the tests!
I can so easily see how this thing is spreading like wildfire if government is insisting you must be showing one of the classic symptoms to get a test! It has obviously mutated from when it first started, as have the symptoms, yes some people are getting the classic ‘original’ covid, others are not & this needs to be reflected in the testing criteria!
Anyway, really hoping it doesn’t get worse for either of us or for any of you lovely peeps out there who have also tested +ve x

justleavemebe · 21/11/2020 14:43

@Thisisme0044 same I had to lie because I just had a really bad headache and some nausea. I got a positive test this morning. I've just done the track and trace and it mentioned loads of other symptoms not just the classic symptoms.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/11/2020 14:57

It's interesting when you read the things in other countries that ARE test-worthy eg. Gastric disturbances, (in some studies it was found to be the number 1 symptom in preschool children, and often the only symptom), dizzy lightheaded feeling, pain in kidneys and/or testicles, numbness, tingling, pins and needles etc, and feeling very emotional/tearful - all are recognised in other countries but not here?

It's very odd, someone mentioned Above about pins and needles, I am still getting it in my fingertips every now and then and I'm 24 days post symptoms now.

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 15:00

@thenewaveragebear1983 oh yes to the pains in the kidneys!!! Awful.

itispersonal · 21/11/2020 15:02

My legs feel really funny today, really heavy, restful and lethargic! Even when lying down!

Yea to pressure in the sinuses think this was causing my gum pain.
