How many people have you touched in the last 6 months?

Went for a walk with a friend the other day and accidentally brushed her arm going through a gate. It felt very odd. Thinking about it, apart from that I really don't think I've touched anyone else outside of my household since march.

Was then talking to another friend about it and she reckoned she'd touched about 20. Not job related, just socially. Wtf?!

So what's your number?? Feel like this is the covid version of the 'how many people have you slept with?' threads!! 🤣

3!

FranKatzenjammer · 22/10/2020 17:58

The radiographer who did my mammogram
My hairdresser (only one appointment)
The pharmacist who did my flu jab

That's it.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 22/10/2020 18:44

4 outside my household.

MiracletoCome · 22/10/2020 18:49

Just DH and the hairdresser, she touched me, I don’t generally touch people anyway, haven’t seen DS since Christmas and he would be the only other one

Nochangeplease · 22/10/2020 19:00

I couldn’t tell you. It’s not something I’d be so aware of I’d keep count. Definitely my mum and dad, I’ve hugged maybe 4 or 5 friends. If your counting touching whilst passing things then probably quite a bit more.
Plus I work in a nursery so around 30 kids too.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 22/10/2020 19:07

My DC. My sister, when she was in labour, and my niece several times since then.

Nobody else since March. I’m not a super tactile person so I hadn’t expected to miss it, but I really do. I want a hug from a friend. My DC are lovely and I know some people have absolutely nobody touching or hugging them, but the love and touch of a child is different - they’re all pokey elbows and scrabbling heavily into my lap and hugging me cos it feels good for them. Which is a wonderful thing, but no substitute for somebody hugging me out of love and kindness to me.

vodkaredbullgirl · 22/10/2020 19:09

Well I work in a care home, so most of them in there, although I work nights.

roxyfoxy89 · 22/10/2020 19:11

Probably 65. The 60 children in my 2 reception classes (without PPE, thanks government), my family and my eyebrow/nail lady!

Kolo · 22/10/2020 19:17

3 in my household, I think 3 friends (once, did it unconsciously and then stopped when we realised), hairdresser has touched me with gloves. Then around 30 young children at work.

Groovee · 22/10/2020 19:18

I work in nursery so lots of wee ones. No adults at work.

tenlittlecygnets · 22/10/2020 20:19

Husband, kids, patted a friend on the arm by mistake. Didn't even hug my parents when we saw them in the summer 😢

LegArmpits · 22/10/2020 20:25

Hundreds. I work in a school.

Dee1975 · 22/10/2020 20:54

Apart from DH and DC, I've touched 2 children (who hurt themselfs playing outside) and I’ve touched 3 friends - all since March.
I have really missed being able to hug a friend and felt down over lockdown / summer, but have kind of got used to it now and don’t doubt it would feel strange!

shrunkenhead · 22/10/2020 21:02

I think some things are bigger than the virus and to not hug a bereaved or visibly distressed friend or relative is unthinkable for many of us.

SpeedofaSloth · 22/10/2020 21:04

DH, DS, DD. My hairdresser touched my hair, if that counts. I sort of like it TBH.

frumpety · 22/10/2020 21:17

Forgot to say hundreds at work , but wearing PPE.

vizlsapup · 22/10/2020 21:35

That was DM after six months.

MarmiteCrumpet25 · 22/10/2020 21:41

Only my household members. I’m adopted and met my biological mother recently and wanted to hug her so much, but couldn’t Sad

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/10/2020 21:44

Only immediate family, a hug with MIL and FIL (their choice), a few because of work and my hairdresser touched me...

cardibach · 22/10/2020 21:47

I live alone. Probably nobody apart from a massage I had and a couple of haircuts. But I wouldn’t be touching people anyway. Hugs make me uncomfortable.

VashtaNerada · 22/10/2020 21:50

I’m a teacher so probably about 100. It’s so strange how we’ve all had such very different experiences during all of this.

OneKeyAtATime · 22/10/2020 21:50

Just my household but then I would never really touch anyone else normally I rarely shake hands or hug people

nevergoingoutagain · 22/10/2020 21:53

I hugged my friend. She was crying, I couldn't just look at her!! Other than that no one on purpose!

annabel85 · 22/10/2020 21:56

Nobody

Scarby9 · 22/10/2020 22:01

My hairdresser on only one occasion. Otherwise no-one.
