moon you sound so incredibly trusting and naive

We have a family member seriously affected after the HPV vaccine. No one wants to know - including the Gp and the issue hasn’t been recorded as a vaccine side effects as it didn’t happen with. 48 hours. It has completely displaced any trust I have in the system

Yes and have signed up for the vaccine testing register as well.

Everyone saying "a rushed vaccine" this has had so much money and manpower thrown at it to get it done faster than normal,

Throwing more manpower and money at something, doesn't mean it's done properly in a shorter timeframe, very often the opposite can happen.

Nope, no thanks. Wouldn't put DD forward for it either but DH said he would have it.

So which essential stages do you think have been missed or fatally shortened @PhilCornwall1? The bit where it takes 3 years to discuss the financial viability to even start, or the 5 years it takes to pull together ther funding for stage 3 trials?

No, definitely not, neither would any of my family apparently.
It will have been too rushed.
Even the tests weren't made to be an effective test for corona.

If it was like the oxford one or similar. Definitely no to anything the Russians or Chinese are doing. nine people have dropped dead after a Chinese flu jab apparently.

Yes please, as soon as it's approved - providing it's the Oxford or Pfizer ones. I've done less research on the others so would want to know more.

People who won’t take the vaccine, what are you actually planning to do long term? Assume that the enough of the rest of us take it to get her immunity? Stay at home forever? Embrace Darwinisn?

Those who don’t take the vaccine will probably continue with restrictions on how they can live their lives ie social distancing, not mixing with other households

Yes, if I felt confident in the testing and licensing. So probably a yes for the Oxford one, for example. Although at the moment I'm pregnant and would want to see evidence about the possible effects on the foetus etc.

I would assume there's enough uptake yes. Also vulnerable people will have it first so they're safe.

I'll carry on as I am, so will my family who won't take it either.
No reason not to, once every man and his dog have been the guinea pigs.

No. I'm not against vaccines (just had flu jab) but I'd want it properly tested and in use for some time before I trusted it. And I've also had COVID; I know I could get it again and it could be worse next time but I somehow doubt it. I survived the first time and I think my body would recognise the virus next time and so deal with it.

You can’t social distance once people around you aren’t, unless you never go out.
At some point the extra tables will be put back in cafes, shops will stop limiting the number of customers allowed in, cinemas will sell all the seats again.

I won't take it initially, I'd rather see a few canaries go down the mine first, so to speak. Seem to be plenty here, your good self included Bouncycastle12 Grin

If life opens up as normal, I hardly think a section of society which has not had the vaccine is going to hide away, unless compelled to (which would be almost impossible to enforce). More realistically, the majority of people who can have it will have it and that will be enough for society to start functioning normally again.

Yes after I get my questions answered first: who, what, where, when, why, and how

If it have been rushed and pushed by Trump, a man who knows nothing about science, I wouldn’t take it. If it is developed by people who can’t be trusted because of their view of things I wouldn’t take it

Other than that yes I would. I have nothing to risk or fear.
