@Time40

I'm not sure. Maybe not. It would depend on how much confidence I had in it ... which as things are at the moment, might be not a lot.

This.

Dr David Matthews of Bristol University has been working on coronaviruses for thirty years. Professor Sarah Gilbert, leader of the Oxford University team, had been expecting Disease X to appear some time. Here's the story,

Not overly convinced about the mRNA vaccine.
Would prefer to take a vaccine based on proven 'technology' such as the other vaccines in production.

A family member works in the Pharmaceutical Industry, asked her view. She said

“... the focus, and money, for covid would be very different to your average new medicine. The overseeing body were also involved much, much earlier than normal. (I) wouldn't hesitate to have the vaccine because it could save your life.”

@Muchtoomuchtodo

I’ve not rtt.

I’m booked in for my first dose this week and my second dose in the new year 😀

Yay!

Isn’t it supposed to be 21 days apart, and of your 2nd dose is in the new year, that will be more than 21 days... is it not that precise, mebbe?

Brilliant and lucky you! Are you carehome or front-line NHS staff?

Many NHS workers were dragooned into having the swine flu vac and there were severe side effects of narcolepsy in a few cases.

Yes. I suspect I won't be able to travel abroad easily without it and I'm not having another year without travel.

@Egghead68 I’m frontline NHS.

I’m pleased but with a tinge of apprehension

@PuzzledObserver I’ve been booked in with 28 days between doses but everything I’ve read says 21 days so I’ll query it tomorrow

I would not take it. According to the pdfs I read on gov.uk the other day they have no data regarding how the vaccine affects immunocompromised people, nor how it interacts with other medications. I suppose I will be labelled a conspiracy theorist or anti-vaxxer or selfish or whatever else but it's the truth. You have to seek out the information on the gov.uk website but it's all there & of course they will not advertise it.

Have you noticed people with legitmate concerns regarding this rushed vaccine have to start their statement with "I'm not anti-vaxx but..."! Next anyone who reports bad side effects or illnesses will be dismissed as anti-vaxx conspiracy loons too! It is maddening to see what is happening.

I won't just take the vaccine. i will pay for my entire family to have it privately if we need to. I only wish I could send it to my family in other countries.

I would also happily pay privately for myself and all my family, but I wouldn’t want to get it before more vulnerable people get it first.
