DD1 Y5: none

DD2 Preschool: 1

We're in a T3 area. Think it's up to 6 cases in school so far, majority have been staff not pupils.

@TheHouseonHauntedHill

So the school were honest and gave you this information?
Yes and they're still adamant they were right, they said because child didn't have symtoms they'd been advised not to close, and all children (except the positive case) were expected to be in school, then 3 days later we were told they'd been given different advice and were now closing the bubble! Parents are furious about it!

None

Miseryl · 20/10/2020 22:33

Two DC, 4 and 14. None yet and we are in a tier 3 area. Only cases have been in year 6 at the youngest's school.

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 20/10/2020 22:36

Since the start of march, so including lockdown, there has been at least 5 occasions when at least 1 member of our household has had one of the 3 main symptoms. It's absolutely ridiculous tbh and cannot continue indefinitely. At least testing has a quicker turn around now

Pipandmum · 20/10/2020 22:37

None. Y11.

AlphaJura · 20/10/2020 22:39

Both off for 2 weeks. First week because ds's whole year had to isolate, but dd felt ill anyway. Then had to order her a test and wait for results (negative) second week. Back in for 3 days and now it's half term.

Kolo · 20/10/2020 22:43

Year 5 - 3
Year 7 - 2

Ds y13, one day due to add symptoms awaiting covid swab result.
DD y 11: 3 days for one symptoms, 10 days for close contact. If I extrapolate that could be 70 days of missed school this academic year, which is, of course, an exam year. Her schooling has been assignments set via the online portal. She nearly had one Teams lesson but the teachers tech failed.

I'm sick as a chip, too.

littlerose12345 · 20/10/2020 22:54

DD - twice (first due to a fever, now due to positive case in her class)
DS - once due to his sister's fever.

littlerose12345 · 20/10/2020 22:54

(Both in primary school)

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 20/10/2020 22:55

Two - secondary

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 20/10/2020 23:01

Thanks the grey, I can imagine!
I don't trust our school to be honest you see, I was wondering if by law they had to disclose that.

11MrsLuther · 20/10/2020 23:01

None, 1 is at 6th form with 4000 students, one at seniors with 1800 pupils, one at primary with 450 pupils.

cheeseychovolate · 20/10/2020 23:01

None for primary and none for secondary, feeling very lucky to have made it to half term without any

WorriedMummy2020 · 20/10/2020 23:04

None.

1 is in Reception class. 1 is in Year 3.

Thegreymethod · 20/10/2020 23:06

I've lost faith in ours to be honest. They did send a message out the day after the test, but the mum had put it on social media and word had got out and they'd received a lot of phone calls from confused parents wondering why their children were in school! So I think they had to send some kind of message, all the parents were just so confused because it seemed to go against everything we've been told since they went back to school!

2

One middle school
One high school

LilyPond2 · 20/10/2020 23:14

DD currently self-isolating (first time) due to close contact with student who tested positive. Sixth form students still able to attend are now in a minority, and quite a few Year 11s sent home too. Don't know how the lower years are faring.

Crystal87 · 20/10/2020 23:14

Year 7 child has had 10 days in isolation. His "bubble" was the fourth to isolate in his school. My other kids haven't yet but no doubt they will.

Topsyandtimison37 · 20/10/2020 23:15

None- West Yorkshire

Changethetoner · 20/10/2020 23:17

One, back in March , DC showed symptoms but there were no testing then, so they had to isolate.

CoodleMoodle · 20/10/2020 23:22

None so far. DD is in Y2. The other Y2 class are isolating though, first case in the school (specifically the teacher, but could be kids as well). They mingle occasionally but DD's class haven't been sent home... yet.

Justgivemewine · 20/10/2020 23:24

3 dc, 3 schools, no isolations yet, suprised but happy.
