Dc1 - none
Dc2 - two (currently in the second one)

Both primary.

Sick as a fucking chip.

OP posts:

Two weeks off school due to outbreak involving staff who work in different classes but his class didn't need to self isolate.

Both of my nieces who are at different schools have had to self isolate due to their class teachers testing positive.

lljkk · 20/10/2020 19:20

secondary DC, college DC: None.

I know someone with a toddler, the tot has had at least 2 tests in last 3 weeks, though. Nightmare.

Essexgirlupnorth · 20/10/2020 19:21

3 days due to me developing a cough but tested negative. Fingers crossed they make it till half term but going into tier 4 restrictions so will make no difference

Though year 6 at my daughter school have just been sent home for the second time this term

BrutusMcDogface · 20/10/2020 19:23

We’ve all had 2 days at home while waiting for a result.

BrutusMcDogface · 20/10/2020 19:23

Tier 4 restrictions? I thought there were 3?

sunshinestanley · 20/10/2020 19:24

We're onto our second too, OP. I can sympathise Haloween Sad

DC1 Primary Yr 5, had to isolate for 12 days.
DC2 Secondary Yr8, currently isolating for 10 days.

Velvian · 20/10/2020 19:25

DD & DS2 missed first 4 days back at school, due to DD having a cough. Back after negative test. That's all. It was a bad start, but otherwise OK.

MotherofPearl · 20/10/2020 19:26

DC1 (Year 8): none

DC 2 (Year 4): one period of isolation starting 6 days after they returned to school in September. The teacher was the one who tested positive.

DC 3 (Reception): none

DonLewis · 20/10/2020 19:27

Y11, 2. But an email today to say there's another case, so SI until 28th, making 3 (my ds was off all of last week with something non covid, so doesn't actually have to isolate, thankfully)

Y4, 1.

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 20/10/2020 19:28

None. Y5 and Y8, North West Surrey.

Worldbeatingmess · 20/10/2020 19:29

Also missed two days due to school transport staff self isolating and has had to self isolate for 3 days ( but 2 were weekend) when dh had symptoms.

MayFayre · 20/10/2020 19:44

None

2 dc, secondary age

Crunchymum · 20/10/2020 19:56

We've all had to do the full 14 days due to a fuck up with the test (took ages to get one, then the last day it could be done was a day with no post, then the courier arranged by 119 didn't turn up, wasting the sample)

So that was us all indoors for the full isolation period.

MileyWiley · 20/10/2020 19:58

None - and we're in Greater Manchester. Hasn't been any in whole (large) primary school.

middleager · 20/10/2020 20:00

DC1 - none, secondary, but cases left right and centre in school.
DC2 - two. Currently in second lot. Year 10 so not great.

ceeveebee · 20/10/2020 20:00

None for us (also in greater Manchester, no cases in our 540 intake primary school)

middleager · 20/10/2020 20:00

Both cases were due to positive cases in class.

bookworm14 · 20/10/2020 20:03

None. Inner London primary.

TicTacTwo · 20/10/2020 20:05

2 kids (y10, y12)
Tier 1 Area (Home Counties)
None

HazeyJaneII · 20/10/2020 20:06

Dd1 and 2 (yr 9 and 10) - had to isolate for 8 days as brother had symptoms, and we couldn't get a test

Ds (yr6) - once for above illness.
Now isolating for a 2nd time, due to a case in his bubble - will now be home learning as he is medically vulnerable and Dr and school have supported the idea of him staying home.

MiddlesexGirl · 20/10/2020 20:06

Secondary - none instigated by school.
One while waiting for family member test result.

Shitfuckoh · 20/10/2020 20:09

School Nursery DC - isolation period is up tomorrow thankfully!
Eldest DC (primary school) his school closed as of Friday and reported positive cases are rising rapidly.

Wtfdidwedo · 20/10/2020 20:10

None for mine in school nursery and Year 6. And we live in Wales which is going into lockdown. There have been about 12 school years with cases in my county that I can recall hearing about. Think we have about 30-35 schools in total.

SpeedofaSloth · 20/10/2020 20:10

DD: 0
DS: 1

SonyaCisco · 20/10/2020 20:11

Year 5 child - 2 :- his bubble burst due to positives in school and one day due to symptoms (negative test),

Year 12 child - 2 - currently self-Isolating for 14 days as close contact of positive pupil at school and 1 day due to sibling (above) waiting for test results due to symptoms.

Across my town cases (and therefore children isolating) in 6 out of 8 schools. Tier 1, small town, in a theoretically low case area.
