@kimlo I don't suppose there's anything to stop the dizziness?

I think it was meant to be at 6 but wonder if the MP questions overran as that wasn't due to end until 5.50pm?
When I had vertigo, years ago, I was given chlorpromazine. It sort of fixed the dizziness but made my so tired that my limbs felt like lead, instead. Somewhat counterproductive.

You can probably assume that much of your dizziness is stress related. Treating yourself kindly goes without saying Flowers

gingercat02 · 12/10/2020 18:48

Looks like level 2 across the whole patch including all the bits of Teeside which didn't have local lockdown . Which looks like the rule of 6 applies in outside spaces (according to Look North) Carol Malia is out in the rain and NOT pleased

LatteLover12 · 12/10/2020 18:53

Haha, I saw that too @gingercat02 'I'm not good with props...' as she wrestled with a giant umbrella.

FrolickingLemon · 12/10/2020 19:37

I think Carol also got caught saying something off camera like "won't that sound confusing?" to Jamie Driscoll. (The Mayor I chose to elect in my Borough and have much faith in) I have to wonder what he actually wanted to say.

PennyDreadfuI · 12/10/2020 20:56

Well, another day, another clear as mud load of old cobblers from our dear leader. Our restrictions are the same as before, no? I'm glad we're not tier 3 but I've got a feeling in my water that we'll get there sooner rather than later.

Eeeeeh though, the clip of BJ in the HoC! Lint brush and an industrial sized bottle of Head & Shoulders definitely in order.

@Plussizejumpsuit oh tell me about it. I lost almost 4 stone in 2017/18 - I went from a size 22 to a 14/16. I'm back into an 18 now. I feel completely gross. I've always been an emotional eater and my goodness I've needed the comfort this year. It's only going to get worse over winter. Part of me thinks oh, just indulge yourself, this is not the time to worry about a few extra pounds, you can deal with it later. Then I think that being so overweight makes me more at risk from Covid and just makes me feel all-round bleurgh. But at the moment it's a cycle I can't seem to break - even more so now the shops are getting the Christmas food in!

Snoringferret · 12/10/2020 21:05

I've put on a stone over lockdown too.
It's the booze for me, I don't normally drink during the week and only a glass or two at the weekend but I've been at Christmas level drinking all through lockdown. That and my 'I deserve a treat' every night.

I've decided to but the booze and try and look after myself a bit better for this second wave.

Shitfuckoh · 12/10/2020 21:22

You know what's going to be my undoing over the next week & a few days of isolation? The fact that I've got some of those Jacobs Treelets (mini cheddar things) coming with the shopping. I planned to put them aside for Christmas they won't last til the weekend

Happyinheels · 12/10/2020 22:05

Has anyone in the Teesside area done a Covid home test recently? I'm just wondering how long you waited for results? They would've received ours on Friday and I've had nowt back yet...

Needanewnamenow · 12/10/2020 22:29

Checking in from South of Durham city. I've not been posting much but have been enjoying reading everything. Glad we are tier 2 but I must admit it's been getting me down a bit today. Nursery are now wearing masks for the handover at the door. Working from home will never end (although am wfh for my employer bin the south as long as I can get away with it so I shouldn't complain) and the weather was awful today. Also had the outcome of some (medical) tests, and there's nothing to be done. But, onwards and upwards

PickAChew · 12/10/2020 23:07

DH is quite enjoying working from home but we're lucky to have the space (house isn't huge by mumsnet standards but has 3 reception rooms) and his job is pretty portable as a code monkey, anyhow. I sometime resent that he spends the day on teams then is all peopled out while I've spoken to no one other than shop assistants, a few bus drivers and my immediate family (DH, DS1 who doesn't speak any more, Ds2 who talks at us) since I saw my parents and sisters family in July. I'm not terribly sociable but that's pushing it, even for me.

I got turned down for a health insurance renewal, last week. They've told me that I have to ask my gp why. The answer is clearly "because covid" since I miraculously got my first med review in 3cyears after the insurance company wrote to them and I should have yearly health checks and blood tests with the meds I take. Plus, I'm over 50 so according to some mumsnet tees need to stay home so they can lead their more important lives.

@needanewnamenow I shall share some of my virtual cake with you 🍰

NoseringGirl · 12/10/2020 23:43

Just checking into the new thread! Hope everyone is okay after the ups and downs of today!

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 13/10/2020 02:45

Thread 3 already! Love this support group, kept off here last week as was struggling with a few things, but life goes on and just catching up. Hope you are all keeping well !!

juneybean · 13/10/2020 08:03

Morning lovelies, didn't realise we were on a new thread! What chatty bastards we are!

Want to echo someone who was worried about how it is worse than March, I'm particularly concerned as we aren't even into winter yet 😔

Needanewnamenow · 13/10/2020 08:47

thanks @pickachew cake always appreciated! Am agreeing that it is worth than March. Am reviewing some of our decisions then. I had a miscarriage in lockdown, and just me and DD and DH. I should have just got my mum round, why did i struggle on

Snoringferret · 13/10/2020 09:18

We've got a night away in a posh hotel on Thursday for our anniversary. It's already been rearranged and I'm desperate to go as I've only had one day off work since March.

I feel a bit guilty about going. Are we allowed to go for a night away, does anyone know?

Someaddedsugar · 13/10/2020 09:30

Grandma passed away this morning and I'm not really sure why I'm writing this but just think I need to say it. She was the most amazing grandma in the entire world, completely unique but so loved.

I hope everyone's ok today.

I think you can as long as you follow the rules etc with only your household
Snoringferret · 13/10/2020 09:33

I'm really sorry to hear that sugar

If it helps to tell us all about her on here then feel free to go ahead.

@Snoringferret
Yes you’re allowed to go. Unless the venue has closed its doors)
( I make my own Up rules now)

Dowser · 13/10/2020 09:50

@Someaddedsugar
So sorry to hear she’s gone but it sounds like she’s left a wonderful legacy behind..
She will always be part of you.
Gawd I carry my dad in my shoulder and he’s been gone 23 years.
Just finished watching after life the other night and could’ve cried for england..and shouldve done
Instead of carrying all this pent up emotion inside.
I used to work for Cruse many moons ago
Just remember , tears are the healing for the hurt that’s already happened.

Dowser · 13/10/2020 10:02

@BessieSurtees
Have a lovely time despite the weather.
It’s not an area I know well
I thought if you were coming down to thirsk- york area I might’ve been able to point you in the directions of things to do.

FrolickingLemon · 13/10/2020 10:18
