That’s shocking! On the school run this morning I heard some parents offer others lifts and lots of people talking about meet up plans. It totally feels like it’s gonna be never ending just spreading worse.

FrolickingLemon · 12/10/2020 15:03

That's one of the reasons I decided to take a break from Sports Therapy. I knew I'd end up paying out loads of money to try and Covid proof my business (no such thing when you are touching people) but then the usual selfish fuckers would turn up when ill and infect me. Wasn't worth it. Plus I always felt we would get shut down again anyway.

Shitfuckoh · 12/10/2020 15:09

Must be nice to be so blinded to it that you can class your nails as essential though Shock

Struggling here at the moment, I knew things would be tricky with 3DC in 3 different settings but with 1 DC now having to isolate (and of course he's pre-school so can't be left alone) it's brought it home that bit more. I've been saying if the DC still have school then we'll be fine but due to having to isolate 1, the other can't go to school. The eldest gets transport so I thankfully don't need to figure out how to sort him out too. Stress headache with it all.

gingercat02 · 12/10/2020 15:13

Press conference at 7pm Pickachew where does that fit on your scale?
On the Covid briefing today (NHS) we have been told the Nightingale hospitals will be reopened in the next couple of weeks and we need to prepare for clinics to be cancelled to free staff to cover wards and sickness 😪

Weefreelassie2 · 12/10/2020 15:44

Checking again from North Northumberland, and thank you for the new thread 🌹
I've been reading along but not commenting as my FIL died last week so me and DH are a bit raw. FIL was in a care home quite a distance away, so we only saw him twice since the beginning of lock down, the first time when we could only have a visit of one person for half an hour by appointment, the second and last when he was dying 😢
As he had advanced dementia, I don't think he felt the lack of visits but it has been so hard on us worrying if he felt he had been abandoned or was lonely.

This is all a bit shit, isn't it ?

gingercat02 · 12/10/2020 15:46

Merseyside are getting the highest restrictions starting on Wednesday still under discussion with NE and NW councils but will be decided today

PickAChew · 12/10/2020 15:50

Hmm. 7pm means he's going to blindside us with something.

Illy603 · 12/10/2020 15:56

Durham here 👋🏼

Have a feeling regardless that we aren’t being placed into tier three today, it won’t be long until we are anyway. The anxiety all this waiting must be giving people. I work in hospitality and it’s just constant worrying what will happen.

LatteLover12 · 12/10/2020 15:56

Is anyone watching this? BoJo in the HoC now - the NE is staying in tier 2 (for now) which includes the rule of 6 in public and in gardens...

I'm convinced I've heard it wrong...

Rosehip10 · 12/10/2020 16:01

If pubs that serve food can remain open at any level, then surely that is the vast majority of pub open whatever?

Shitfuckoh · 12/10/2020 16:01

Tier 2 didn't on the documents leaked? That was Tier 1.
Qwenzo · 12/10/2020 16:03

Checking in from north tyneside. I can’t see us staying out of Tier 3 tbh.

Snoringferret · 12/10/2020 16:06

Oh my goodness if I've understood that properly it means we can go for walks with our family.
Thank fuckity fuck fuck for that.

BessieSurtees · 12/10/2020 16:06

Great thread title @PennyDreadfuI. Haven't caught up with the speech yet. @Dowser not far from Goathland.

LatteLover12 · 12/10/2020 16:08

Yes @Snoringferret that's what I think too! I can meet a friend with the baby!

Thiswillbeinteresting · 12/10/2020 16:09

Sorry for your loss @Weefreelassie2 Flowers

TheSilveryPussycat · 12/10/2020 16:11

Just watched him. A perfect example of bad communication IMHO. First he waffles on and mentions a load of current restrictions, thus putting wrong info in his listeners' heads which later interferes with the new details he gives.

But anyway he never just says "These are the new restrictions for tier 1", followed by a coherent list. Then same for tiers 2 and 3. And a recap at the end would have been good.

I actually sat here with a notebook ready to put down what our restrictions will be. I haven't written anything!!

I don't suppose he will do much better this evening.

NUFC69 · 12/10/2020 16:16

Checking back in from south Northumberland. I feel so sorry for all you new mums, I can't imagine how awful it must be at times without a good support network around you.

We're supposed to be going to Staffordshire for a week's holiday in November; we've already had to cancel three holidays- I wonder what the chances of us getting away are.

Dementedswan · 12/10/2020 16:33

I thought we are not allowed to mix households.. it's currently illegal in doors and outdoors on private property and advised against outside in public . So actually in tier two we can now meet up to 6 people all from different households in our garden?..

I did get the impression through an exchange between johnson and starmer theres conflict over which areas are to be tier 3 with Johnson saying make your mind up now 🤷‍♀️

LatteLover12 · 12/10/2020 16:37

They've said they're still in discussions with the other metro mayors so there's still a chance we'll end up in tier 3 at some point.

I'm going to make the most of being outside (probably in the rain) for now though. The local restrictions were brought in the day after I had the baby 😩

InTheLongGrass · 12/10/2020 16:37

So, how do we find out what areas are in each tier??
The papers keep talking about the NE, but, as already established on a previous thread, noone has any idea who is included in the NE. Stockton tier level anyone??? Surely we need to join you guys in some restrictions? Although id love to be able to go see my parents at half term.......

On the plus side, I've just been offered a job ShockShockShock.
5 years of unemployment, and someone want to give me money!!!! Probably because noone is stupid enough to go and work in a place with 600 other people, but hey. What is they say about beggers cant be choosers!

PickAChew · 12/10/2020 16:41

Congratulations, ITLG

Just checked today's numbers update😬

Not me, but DD has recently started at Liverpool Uni. She tried to buy veg in the Tesco yesterday and they were out of stock.

Now, I don’t know if the shelves were bare or she just couldn’t get what she wanted. She’s going halves with a flat mate who has a delivery slot.

DaddysGirl36 · 12/10/2020 16:46

I've been to the Metrocentre today. I really really don't want to be one of those nosy parkers who judge (and I tell my parents off for this) but....so many people in groups obvs not from the same household. I understand bubbles are allowed to meet but feel it's more rule breaking in the "we will be fine" camp. Venues clearly allowing these people to sit together without question too - either for the business or to avoid confrontation & conflict.

It's bad enough seeing people take the piss when I look out the window (neighbour having hot tub parties), on my Facebook but now when I go shopping I have to see everyone in a lovely group acting like the world is normal whilst I'm alone for 10 hours per day, following the rules, struggling with 2 under 2.

Sorry. Rant over. Hello thread 3, hopefully not Tier 3

Going to be a postcode search on the Gov website by Wednesday, apparently 😒

Hopefully the 6pm Press Conference will clear more up but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just the same old waffling we usually hear.

There’s a debate tomorrow so I wouldn’t take anything as gospel at the moment. I imagine even if we are put into tier two it won’t be long before we are moved into tier three anyway.
