I hope he had a good Birthday @PickAChew

Directionerforever · 01/12/2020 21:16

So is the metrocentre open tomorrow then?

PickAChew · 01/12/2020 22:51

Pretty decent considering he doesn't do birthdays, @shitfuckoh

Metro centre is open

Anyone going to visit 24 hours Primark, I would definitely visit maybe 10 o’clock. Someone said metro centre will be open.
Went to Arnison centre tonight, pleasantly busy. Wonder if Durham will be busy tomorrow. I want to see the Christmas tree in the market place. This will be the first year I won’t be going to the Christmas festive market.
Anyway hope everyone is still well.

PickAChew · 02/12/2020 23:56

I'm toying with wlking into Durham, tomorrow. The forecast for Friday is pretty disgusting and I need a leg stretch.

I'm not in a hurry to visit primark.

ScoobySnacker · 03/12/2020 10:44

Anyone NE had a test lately? Just wondering how quick results are coming though. Had DD tested this morning due to cough

PickAChew · 03/12/2020 11:04

We got ours from a postal test the next day, a couple of weeks ago.

IggyAce · 03/12/2020 11:14

A friends test was carried out around lunch time and they had the result around 6:30am the following morning I believe.

ScoobySnacker · 03/12/2020 11:30

Thanks both. That sounds hopeful for a speedy result. Last time we waited 5 days !

MissEWeatherwax · 03/12/2020 12:45

I’m going shopping today, even though the weather is awful. Let’s see how busy the city centre is

PickAChew · 03/12/2020 13:02

I got as far as bringing the bins in and decided against it.

somethinginyoureyes · 03/12/2020 13:25

Oh my god ...did anyone see the queue last night for primark at the metro ?
Absolutely ridiculous
It went all the way to the car park

ScoobySnacker · 03/12/2020 13:57

I did @somethinginyoureyes it must have taken hours to get in!!

NUFC69 · 03/12/2020 16:55

ScoobySnacker, my DH is one of the volunteers for the Oxford Vaccine and has to do a swab test every week. It catches the 5.00 pm postal collection on Monday - this week he had the text confirming he was negative before 2.00 on Tuesday afternoon. Amazing.

ScoobySnacker · 03/12/2020 17:51

That's a pretty good turnaround @NUFC69. It seems things are getting better. Last time it took a while to even get a test slot. This time it took about 2 mins!! Sounds like the results times are improved too

gingercat02 · 03/12/2020 18:24

I have just brought home 12 weeks worth of lateral flow tests to try to catch asymptomatic NHS staff before they infect their teams. Joy of sticking a thin cotton bud up my nose twice a week 😪. I had antibodies in June too but has to be done I suppose. At least the vaccine is enroute

TheSilveryPussycat · 03/12/2020 21:11

As I have done for the past 5 days I intended to go to the Arnison today.

Didn't happen again.

PickAChew · 03/12/2020 23:59

Probably best to leave it a few days, anyhow. It was busy enough on Tuesday!

I've reserved a time slot for my markses shop, next week. You can, so I did. Even with the newly reopened shops, we've not had the normal December traffic past our house, mind. Usually, in December, you can forget trying to cross the road from about 8am to 6pm.

ScoobySnacker · 04/12/2020 07:52

DDs test came back negative just after midnight. Pretty impressed with the turnaround time she only tested at 10am yesterday!

MissEWeatherwax · 04/12/2020 12:03

Arnison centre was quite busy yesterday afternoon. The weather is awful, but no snow so I’m happy. County Durham cases are definitely dropping.
Was going to feed the swans at the park, but is too wet now.

PickAChew · 04/12/2020 13:15

It's disgusting today. I've been no further than greggs!

Shitfuckoh · 04/12/2020 15:54

Soaked 3 times today, not impressed!

DS1 is happy to be seeing his friends on Monday, a bit of a ''unlikely to reopen'' followed quickly by ''hoping to'' - It's been left as that along with ''looking forward to seeing him Monday'' so hopefully, all being well, back to school for him on Monday. I'll miss him but not the constant chatter

Someaddedsugar · 04/12/2020 19:48

Went to Newcastle today - absolutely chaos. I ended up leaving as it was far too busy in every shop and no social distancing in place.

Hope everyone's ok this weekend!

TheSilveryPussycat · 04/12/2020 20:02

Made it to Arnison Sainsbury's. Got most of what I wanted, except there were no parsnips. I even avoided the rain!

I may have accidentally bought a jumper, a t-shirt, and some socks.

uptoongirl · 04/12/2020 23:08

Was it @Someaddedsugar? I thought the weather might have put people off. My plan is to go Monday or Tuesday, I would prefer to leave it another week or so to let things quieten off but DS3 is only just going back to nursery after 3 weeks and I'm worried either his or other dc bubble will close before I get to go!

Just had confirmation Theatre Royal are cancelling panto which is a shame but understandable.
