Re. various brands being "dumped" - I wonder if we are going to see more of this in January when the Brexit transition period comes to an end. I like the Picard, Reflets de France and Skandikitchen ranges, but think there is a strong possibility that they are going to disappear too in the event of No Deal.

Wisteria1979 · 11/11/2020 11:22

That’s a good point. Need to stock up on my frozen Picards 😁 ScandiKitchen has a shop in London where I am assuming ocado source from so hopefully they will continue.

ElectricEels · 11/11/2020 11:57

I did a Morrison’s order for today as I wanted a small bottle of brandy for my cake and Ocado didn't have one.

I'm not impressed at all, 8 things missing- nappies, butter, pastry to name a few. Was there really no other butter in the shop to substitute with? Or any nappies in that size? Won't be straying from Ocado again, I rarely have anything missing and the substitutions are always sensible.

Solidarity with flouncers - also can’t wait to flounce!

That's our next thread title. Flouncers Unite! 😂
Beetlebrows · 12/11/2020 02:24

No subs for me today and everything was fine. I'm uneasy about products vanishing though.

PoulePouletteEternellement · 12/11/2020 06:34

Aaargh ...

I can now see slots for a week after my coming delivery next week. It's so tempting to take one even though I really wouldn't need it - just in case whatever.

Anyway, no flouncing can happen just now. My veg box delivery people happened to mention in an email recently that they are not taking on (for which I read 'have been turning away') new customers right now. So my investment in tomatoes surely grown in pure gold is holding good for the moment.

Still, were it not for the comfort of tinned tomatoes, marmite, sugar ... I might be questioning my loyalty to the Ocado delivery machine in preference to, say, Amazon, or even the Royal Mail. (But it would mean so many deliveries.)

Madcats · 12/11/2020 08:00

I am certainly trying to make space in my freezer for a "branded, but might be ditched soon" shop.

I nipped into a terrestrial M&S yesterday as I had a hunch it would be quiet. I was surprised to see Black Farmer sausages on their shelves (so I guess they'll be safe at Ocado).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/11/2020 08:39

I've an order due today, the next one I can get is in 9 days time and thats it. So I can't get one a week any more despite trying at all sorts of times of the day.

So I've transferred much of my shop over to Sainsburys for a weeks time. If Sainsburys work well I'm going to jump ship after Brexit. So much of their stuff is much cheaper and as I shopped there in person they know my favourites well and are offering some good offers.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 12/11/2020 10:07

I thought that teaming up with marks and Spencer was going to be fab. Adding a pack of school socks to the order would be really useful. Unfortunately everything like that is constantly OOS. What’s going on??

I always thought there would be limited choice with M&S and said that on here, but its worse than I imagined. I'm sure they stocked things like school socks before just not m&s ones
DobbyTheHouseElk · 12/11/2020 11:30

The school socks was an example. Yes I think they did do a few toddler bits.

I can’t understand how it’s OOS, all of it. Unless my depo is particularly rubbish.

I thought it might have been handy for last min forgotten birthday gifts. Like a photo frame, candle sort of thing.

But they did have stuff like nice candles , they used to stock brands like Joules, Orla Kiely, Cath Kidtson as well we now have less choice with just m&s

School socks are in stock on my depot.

Fuss · 12/11/2020 12:15

Sigh.
Because brioche buns under 2 bags of potatoes was going to work out so well.

I notice the knickers have vanished.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 12/11/2020 12:43

I thought the packing was done by robots.

Fuss · 12/11/2020 12:58

@DobbyTheHouseElk

I thought the packing was done by robots.
There was something on the gadget show last week showing it was done in part by robots but some items were added by actual packers, that said there seems to be an algorithm for the bags so Ocado really need to program either human or robot to not be fucking stupid enough to put potatoes on top of bread.
Quarantino · 12/11/2020 14:03

AND the teabags I want are out of stock on the large packs or the reduced price ones. Grrr. How do you go out of stock on teabags?

PowerslidePanda · 12/11/2020 14:19

Not so relevant for things like socks, but to anyone thinking of ordering clothes, just be aware that you can't return them if they don't fit! Though how they get away with that, with distance selling regulations, I have no idea. So as much as I might like to order clothes from them, I'm not going to.

Wow! That’s crap. How can they do that under the distance selling regs.
Aurorie11 · 12/11/2020 15:16

Not impressed tonight ordered chicken subbed at 4 times the price, no steak (that was dinner tomorrow night) and no joint for Sunday lunch - so will have to venture to the shops

PowerslidePanda · 12/11/2020 15:30

No idea! But I spoke to customer services to clarify my understanding was correct. They'll only take returns at the point of delivery - and with covid, that means untouched, so you can't even leave the driver standing at the door while you try them on. I specifically asked about returning items the following week and it was a no; ditto returning them to an actual M&S store.

AdaColeman · 12/11/2020 15:50

It obviously is, it's been packed alphabetically, brioche buns in to the bag first, then potatoes! Wink Grin
CarlaH · 12/11/2020 16:04

Well in a dreary update to my post further up the page I have twice more tried to check out having again managed to see a slot both yesterday and today.

All the stuff that was out of stock on Tuesday is still out of stock and some other things as well now.

It might be nice to see a slot but it's no use if half your shopping would be missing.

ArabellaPilkington · 12/11/2020 16:29

On my third freebie bar of Tony Chocoloney or whatever it's called.

The dark milk salted pretzel one OHMYGOD

It's heaven
