This is what I heard when I turned on the news just a minute ago...by demonstrators in London today...I'm actually really shocked. Do people really think this?? There were A LOT of people at the demonstration...

Stupid that they are, you can sort of understand why they might believe the far right conspiracy theories. Afterall despite the supposed restrictions they've been allowed to congregate together in large numbers for a mass mask-less gathering in a part of the country where more than a million vulnerable people (elderly, underlying conditions) live. Travelled there on public transport too.

Actually they weren't. The organisers submitted a risk assessment which included mask wearing and strict social distancing and the protesters broke it, so the police declared the RA void and classed it as an illegal gathering.

I have a friend who died in an accident and was classed as having covid. No tests as far as I'm aware.

Just think about it for one moment. How could YOU control the population of an entire country? Telling people that there is a virus, and that they must follow these controlling restrictions, or they will die, would be a very effective way to control the masses, wouldn't it.

I don’t think it is so ‘utterly terrifying’! Everyone is going to die from something! Please have some perspective. Look at the official digit lees for how many people die globally from TB, or dementia, or starvation for gods sake. I find it concerning that anyone who disagrees with you should be arrested, it simply means that those people were right to protest. You are all losing your minds

Do you think drink drivers shouldn't be arrested? It's all very well choosing to risk your own life but this is putting many other people in danger who haven't chosen to risk it. I also assume you don't believe in medical treatment. Some people die from TB yes but we also try to prevent it. We have vaccines and treatments.

Also if people genuinely wanted to make their voice heard, they've go and mass gather protest somewhere new. There's a protest every five minutes in London. It means nothing anymore. Protest in Hampshire or Oxfordshire or Cheshire or the Cotswolds. Then you'd be noticed.

Also were cases lower then?? Really?? Or was testing just lower and restricted then?? Either way we were in lockdown it should never of happened whatever the cause or agenda

A lot of ignorant people speak a load of stupid things, it's not really that surprising covid is the same. It seems a weird extreme is portrayed that either people don't care at all, or people are cowering at home, when most are probably in the middle- not overly fearful but doing what they can to try and make it safer for everyone.

Cases were lower over the summer -- look at the graphs. Big gatherings are risky especially unmasked in cooler weather)

And I don't think we have the slack to allow them at the moment

There are people who believe the queen is an alien lizard and Hillary Clinton eats babies (seriously) so it's not so surprising people believe covid is a hoax. People believe all sorts of things.

If the plan was to control the population, it's not a very good one. For a start, if we had proper restrictions today's mask-less mass gathering wouldn't have been allowed to go ahead.

When unread stuff like this I think 'why are they being paid' I meant, to wjhat end does the gov want them to do this? How does it benefit them? They must be doing it for a reason

And the reason people are guessing at and spreading these ideas is because the government have been so shamefully incompetent at delivering a clear message and treating the people they puport to represent like grown ups.

Compare that with the way Merkel has communicated, or the Swedish government.

Mind you, Germany has had its share of "the virus is a myth" types.

do you actually think Covid is a made up pandemic by the government? How are they killing all the people then? And why?

As a doctor I am certain that the number of Covid deaths is exaggerated . I have been asked several times by the coroners office to state Covid 19 as cause of death in people who haven’t been tested. I haven’t done it but my colleagues have.

Is it obvious they have died of something else? Are you sure they have not been tested in the morgue? Just can't imagine why they would ask you to do it for no good reason.

Why do we still have governments. I am always saying this.

Why do we give a small amount of people, (who are human beings, exactly the same as you and I, ) total control and total rule over the rest of us.

We keep voting them in, to have power over us. It is such a bizarre system. We could change the system. Do you really think that the government is not made up of corrupt people, who want power over people? They do not have our interests at heart!

I read a great quote: "how do you make a man think he is free? By letting him vote for the person that will have power over him."

@MadameBlobby but it's 'only' a million because the world shut down to prevent the spread. If a million people died of it while the world stood still practically what do you think would happen if we were all rubbing shoulders on the tube and sitting on top of each other in pubs and bars?

Is it likely that this is being done world wide? Destroying economies for no reason is in no ones best interests, so what would be a logical motive to make it up?
