I've been following the daily mail on line ( mostly because it's not behind a paywall etc) and it's a bit bleak. No mention of when we'll hear anything yet. Lots of talk of restriction and curfews.
My friend heard Monday on the radio today ? Lots of speculation going on I guess.

I've not watched the news for a few days but keep seeing stuff about announcements on here. I listen to the radio but all I heard yesterday was potential for pubs to close for a few weeks. Where is everyone seeing about an announcement? What do we expect?

I'm sure I read earlier something would be announced on Tuesday. Think it may have been the DM though .

Tuesday supposedly. I read one report that said it would be new measures for the whole of the UK and another which said just England.

I heard Tuesday too but probably from a rubbish red top.

But is that Tuesday that the restrictions start or Tuesday that they will announce what’s happening in coming weeks?

Wasn’t Tuesday about stricter lockdown for parts of the NE and NW?

I'm in a local lockdown area. Nobody is taking a pick of notice about it. I feel like we have been a bit of an experiment. Haven't seen the news today, but after following the original lockdown rules, I am tired and utterly fucked what with my Mum having cancer and not seeing my boyfriend for 6 months. I think a national lockdown will come very soon. But also think the mindset has changed and the Government lost anyone complying shortly after the clapping for the NHS stopped. If I could pinpoint it further, it was Cummings little trip to Barnard Castle.

At the risk of being selfish I'm hoping any new restrictions in England start after next week as I've finally got a week off work and want to make the most of it!

Joking aside, I agree about the mindset changing @FrolickingLemon. I complied last time, but if there's another national lockdown I'm not going to worry about going out more than once a day or going to the corner shop for something that might be classed as non essential.

Wasn't Boris meant to be using the weekend to consider his options? I guess once he decides, and a PR plan is formulated, then he'll make the announcement.

If there is an announcement on Tuesday then presumably it will be for some future point otherwise why on earth impose one set of restrictions on the NW on Tuesday and then change them the same day

We are in a lockdown area too. It's bullshit. Tbh I think Cummings gate was the end for the government and now the rubbish testing system. It's not good enough.

The media reports that Boris is spending the weekend considering the options, that's all we know really.

Nicola Sturgeon has already said she wants to prepare people for some difficult measures (paraphrase). It wouldn't surprise me if she announces on Monday and he does his bit on Tuesday (would coincide with new restrictions in some areas) or maybe Wednesday.

I think it's going to play out similarly to what happened in March, that we'll get the announcement the evening before - I think that's what happened?

I don't think the local lockdowns are really being paid attention to, so I do think at this point a strict lockdown will probably be imposed across England, though I think they'll keep schools open.

Well my neighbours came back from Greece last weekend and are currently having a barbecue... there 15 people in the garden. The last lockdown didn’t stop the partying, quarantine rules haven’t stopped the partying, rule of six hasn’t stopped the partying.... I don’t think ANYTHING will stop them

Not all Greece places need quarantine

Unless the Army is brought in ( which won't happen) people won't pay attention or comply again with another lockdown.
Loads of reasons why and I'm not condoning this action at all , but it's just what I think as so many people don't want it and think it is all a waste of time etc etc.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.

People won't comply more people dying of suicide ! /now poverty Etc my friends little girl rushed to hospital on Tuesday breathing problems diagnosed with asthma and she cabt get a docs appointment to follow up .. that is why people are fed up and I don't think they will comply Boris has lied (maybe to keep spirits up ) but been worse .. whitty and valence are idiots too
